Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? -

The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LORD God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” -
Змей был хитрее всех зверей полевых, которых создал Господь Бог. И сказал змей жене: подлинно ли сказал Бог: «не ешьте ни от какого дерева в раю»?

Из всех диких зверей, которых создал Господь Бог, самым хитрым был змей. Он спросил женщину:
— Правда ли Бог сказал: «Не ешьте ни с какого дерева в саду»? -
А змій був найхитріший з усіх звірів, які на землі, котрих створив Господь Бог. І сказав змій жінці: Чому це Бог сказав: Не їжте з жодного дерева, яке в раю?
