And he said, What [meanest] thou by all the drove which I met? And he said, To find favour in the eyes of my lord.
-
And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.
-
Then Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?”
And he said, “These are to find favor in the sight of my lord.” -

“To find favor in your eyes, my lord,” he said. -

“And what were all the flocks and herds I met as I came?” Esau asked.
Jacob replied, “They are a gift, my lord, to ensure your friendship.” -
И сказал Исав: для чего у тебя это множество, которое я встретил? И сказал Иаков: дабы приобрести благоволение в очах господина моего.

Тоді Ісав спитав: "Навіщо в тебе ввесь отой табір, що його я зустрів?" А той відрік: "Щоб знайти ласку в очах мого пана."

І каже Езав: Про що ж у тебе всї цї полки, що я з ними зустрівся? Він же каже: Щоб ізнайшов раб твій милість ув очах в мого пана. -
І сказав Ісав: „А що це за ці́лий табір той, що я спіткав?“ А той відказав: „Щоб знайти милість в очах мого пана“.

Исав спросил Иакова:
— Почему ты послал все эти стада мне навстречу?
— Я хотел найти расположение в твоих глазах, мой господин, — ответил он. -
А що означають усі ці табори, які я зустрів? — запитав Ісав. Він же відповів: Щоб раб твій знайшов у тебе ласку, пане.
