And when Shechem, the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and humbled her.
И увидел её Сихем, сын Еммора Евеянина, царя той земли, и похитил её, и изнасиловал.
And his soul fastened on Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the maiden, and spoke consolingly to the maiden.
После этого он влюбился в Дину и говорил ей сладкие речи.
And Shechem spoke to his father Hamor, saying, Take me this girl as wife.
"Прошу тебя, возьми эту девушку мне в жены", — сказал Сихем отцу.
And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter; but his sons were with his cattle in the fields, and Jacob said nothing until they came.
Иаков узнал, что юноша обесчестил его дочь Дину, но все его сыновья были в поле со скотом, и потому он ничего не говорил, пока они все не вернулись домой.
And Hamor the father of Shechem came out to Jacob, to speak to him.

And the sons of Jacob came from the fields when they heard [it]; and the men were grieved, and they were very angry, because he had wrought what was disgraceful in Israel, in lying with Jacob's daughter, which thing ought not to be done.
Сыновья Иакова, которые были в поле, узнали о том, что случилось и воспылали гневом, ибо Сихем обесчестил Израиль тем, что изнасиловал дочь Иакова. Как только братья услышали о том, какое страшное зло совершил Сихем, они сразу же вернулись с поля домой.
And Hamor spoke to them, saying, My son Shechem's soul cleaves to your daughter: I pray you, give her to him as wife.
Тогда Еммор обратился к братьям и сказал: "Мой сын Сихем пылает страстью к Дине, прошу вас, разрешите ему жениться на ней.
And make marriages with us: give your daughters to us, and take our daughters to you.
Этот брак будет подтверждением того, что между нами особый договор, и тогда наши мужчины смогут брать себе в жёны ваших женщин, а ваши мужчины смогут жениться на наших женщинах.
And dwell with us, and the land shall be before you: dwell and trade in it, and get yourselves possessions in it.
"Живите на одной земле с нами, свободно владейте землёй и торгуйте на ней".
And Shechem said to her father and to her brethren, Let me find favour in your eyes; and what ye shall say to me I will give.
Сихем также поговорил с отцом Дины и с её братьями, он сказал: "Прошу вас, примите меня, я сделаю всё, что вам будет угодно,
Impose on me very much as dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say to me; but give me the maiden as wife.

The Revenge of Dinah's Brothers
And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and spoke -- because he had defiled Dinah their sister --

Сыновья же Иакова решили обмануть Сихема и его отца, ибо всё ещё злились на Сихема за то, что он обесчестил их сестру Дину.
and said to them, We cannot do this, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that [were] a reproach to us.
Поэтому они сказали ему: "Мы не можем позволить тебе жениться на нашей сестре, потому что ты ещё не обрезан. Неправильно будет, если наша сестра выйдет за тебя замуж,
But only in this will we consent to you, if ye will be as we, that every male of you be circumcised;
но мы позволим тебе жениться на ней, если сделаешь вот что: каждый мужчина в твоём городе должен быть обрезан, как мы.
then will we give our daughters to you, and take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and be one people.
Тогда ваши мужчины смогут брать себе в жёны наших женщин, а наши мужчины смогут жениться на ваших женщинах, и мы станем единым народом.
But if ye do not hearken to us, to be circumcised, then will we take our daughter and go away.
Если ты откажешься подвергнуться обрезанию, то мы заберём Дину".
And their words were good in the eyes of Hamor and Shechem, Hamor's son.
Еммер и Сихем обрадовались этому договору,
And the youth did not delay to do this, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter. And he was honourable above all in the house of his father.
и Сихем был очень рад сделать то, о чём просили братья Дины. Сихем же был самым уважаемым человеком в своём семействе.
And Hamor and Shechem his son came to the gate of their city, and spoke to the men of their city, saying,
Еммер с Сихемом пошли на то место, где собирались городские собрания, и обратились к мужчинам города:
These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade in it. And the land -- behold, it is of wide extent before them. We will take their daughters as wives, and give them our daughters.
"Эти люди из племени Израилева хотят быть нам друзьями. Пусть они живут на нашей земле и будут в мире с нами, у нас хватит земли на всех. Мы сможем жениться на их женщинах, и рады будем отдавать им в жены наших женщин.
But only in this will the men consent to us to dwell with us, to be one people -- if every male among us be circumcised, just as they are circumcised.
Но есть одно условие, на которое должны согласиться все наши мужчины: все они должны подвергнуться обрезанию, как обрезано всё колено Израильское.
Their cattle, and their possessions, and every beast of theirs, shall they not be ours? only let us consent to them, and they will dwell with us.
Если мы согласимся на это, то разбогатеем, ведь у них столько скота и всяких животных. Мы должны заключить с ними договор, и они останутся жить у нас".
And all that went out at the gate of his city hearkened to Hamor and to Shechem his son; and every male was circumcised -- all that went out at the gate of his city.
Все мужчины, слышавшие это на городском собрании, согласились с Еммором и Сихемом, и все мужчины тут же были обрезаны.
And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.
Три дня спустя, когда мужчины ещё не оправились, два сына Иакова, Симеон и Левий, беспрепятственно вошли в город и перебили всех мужчин.
And Hamor and Shechem his son they slew with the edge of the sword; and took Dinah out of Shechem's house; and went out.
Динины братья, Симеон и Левий, убили Еммора и его сына, Сихема, потом забрали Дину из дома Сихема и ушли.
The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and plundered the city, because they had defiled their sister.
Сыновья Иакова пошли в город и разграбили его, ибо все ещё были обозлены за то, что Сихем обесчестил их сестру.
Their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and what [was] in the city, and what [was] in the field they took;
И вот братья забрали у них всех овец, стада и ослов, и всё, что было в городе и в полях,
and all their goods, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and plundered them, and all that was in the houses.
забрали всё, чем владели эти люди, даже их жён и детей.
And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me, in that ye make me odious among the inhabitants of the land -- among the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and I am few men in number, and they will gather themselves against me and smite me, and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
Иаков же сказал Симеону и Левию: "Вы навлекли на меня большую беду: весь здешний народ возненавидит меня, все хананеи и все ферезеи обратятся против меня. Нас всего лишь небольшая кучка, если здешний народ соберётся против нас, то уничтожат меня, а вместе со мной и всех наших".
