So Amnon lay down and feigned himself sick; and the king came to see him, and Amnon said to the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.

So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.

Then Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let Tamar my sister come and make a couple of cakes for me in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.”

І лїг Амнон і прикинувсь недужим. Як же прийшов царь, щоб на його подивитись, каже Амнон цареві: Коли б оце моя сестра Тамара та прийшла сюди та зготовила перед віччу в мене дві лижки поливки, щоб менї з її рук ізз'їсти! -
І поклався Амнон, і вдавав хворого, а цар прийшов побачити його. І сказав Амнон до царя: „Нехай при́йде сестра моя Тамара, і нехай спече́ на моїх оча́х два млинці́, і я попої́м з її руки“.

Амнон лег и притворился больным. Когда царь пришел проведать его, Амнон сказал ему:
— Пусть моя сестра Фамарь придет и приготовит у меня на глазах пару лепешек, чтобы я мог поесть у нее из рук. -
Тож Амнон ліг і зробився хворим. Увійшов цар, щоб його побачити, а Амнон промовив до царя: Нехай прийде до мене моя сестра Тимар і спече дві паляниці перед моїми очима, і їстиму з її рук!
