David's Family Grows

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.

Хирам был царём города Тир. Хирам отправил к Давиду послов и также послал ему кедровые брёвна, каменщиков и плотников, чтобы построить дом для Давида.

And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted, because of his people Israel.

Тогда Давид увидел, что Господь действительно сделал его царём Израиля. Господь сделал царство Давида очень большим и могущественным. Бог сделал это потому, что любил Свой народ Израиля.

And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begot more sons and daughters.

And these are the names of the children which he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

Two Victories over the Philistines

And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [of it], and went out against them.

Филистимляне услышали, что Давид был избран царём Израиля. И пошли все филистимляне искать Давида. Давид узнал об этом и вышел сразиться с филистимлянами.

And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Филистимляне напали на людей, живших в долине Рефаимов, и ограбили их.

And David inquired of God saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines, and wilt thou give them into my hand? And Jehovah said to him, Go up; and I will give them into thy hand.

Давид спросил Бога: "Должен ли я пойти и сразиться с филистимлянами? Позволишь ли Ты мне одолеть их?" Господь ответил Давиду: "Иди. Я позволю тебе одолеть филистимлян".

And they came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and David said, God has broken in upon mine enemies by my hand, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

Тогда Давид и его люди поднялись к городу Ваал-Перацим, и там они поразили филистимлян. Давид сказал: "Как вода прорывается из разбитой плотины, так Бог прорвался сквозь моих врагов. Бог сделал это моими руками". Поэтому они назвали то место Ваал-Перацим.

And they left their gods there; and David commanded, and they were burned with fire.

Филистимляне оставили своих идолов в Ваал-Перациме, и Давид повелел сжечь этих идолов.

And the Philistines yet again spread themselves in the valley.

Филистимляне опять напали на людей, живших в долине Рефаимов.

And David inquired again of God; and God said to him, Go not up after them; turn round them and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees.

Давид снова обратился к Богу, и Бог ответил на молитву Давида. Бог сказал: "Давид, не иди прямо на филистимлян, обойди их и спрячься в том месте, где растут бальзамовые деревья.

15

And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle; for God will have gone forth before thee to smite the army of the Philistines.

Поднимись на деревья, и, когда услышишь с вершин деревьев звуки шагов, тогда атакуй филистимлян. Я выйду перед тобой и поражу филистимское войско!"

16

And David did as God commanded him; and they smote the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.

Давид сделал, как повелел ему Бог. И поразил Давид войско филистимлян от города Гаваона до Газера.

17

And the fame of David went out into all lands; and Jehovah brought the fear of him upon all the nations.

17

Слава о Давиде пронеслась по всем странам. Господь сделал так, чтобы все народы боялись Давида.
