Jehoahaz King of Judah

And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead, in Jerusalem.

А наро́д кра́ю взяв Йоаха́за, сина Йосії, і настанови́в його царем в Єрусалимі замість ба́тька його.

Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

Йоаха́з був віку двадцяти й трьох літ, коли він зацарював, і царював в Єрусалимі три місяці.

And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and imposed a fine upon the land of a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

I скинув його єгипетський цар в Єрусалимі, і наклав ка́ру на цей край, — сто талантів срібла та талант золота.

And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

І єгипетський цар настанови́в царем над Юдеєю та Єрусалимом брата його Ел'якима, і змінив ім'я́ йому на Єгояким. А брата його Йоахаза узяв Нехо й відвів його до Єгипту.

Jehoiakim's Evil Reign in Judah

Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and he did evil in the sight of Jehovah his God.

Єгояки́м був віку двадцяти й п'яти літ, коли він зацарював, і одина́дцять років царював в Єрусалимі. І робив він зло в оча́х Господа, Бога свого.

Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him with chains of brass to carry him to Babylon.

На нього пішов Навуходоно́сор, цар вавилонський, і він закував його в мідяні кайда́ни, щоб відве́сти його до Вавило́ну.

And Nebuchadnezzar carried [part] of the vessels of the house of Jehovah to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

7

А дещо з по́суду Господнього дому Навуходоно́сор відправив до Вавилону, і дав його до храму свого в Вавилоні.

And the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. And Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

А решта Єгоякимових діл та гидо́ти його, які він робив, і що зна́йдено проти нього, — ото вони описані в Книзі Царів Ізраїлевих та Юдиних. А замість нього зацарював син його Єгояхі́н.

Jehoiachin's Evil Reign in Judah

Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem; and he did evil in the sight of Jehovah.

Єгояхі́н був віку восьми літ, коли він зацарював, і царював в Єрусалимі три місяці й десять день. І робив він лихе́ в Господніх оча́х.

10

And at the turn of the year king Nebuchadnezzar sent and had him brought to Babylon, with the precious vessels of the house of Jehovah; and he made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.

А по році послав цар Навуходоно́сор, і привів його до Вавилону з дорогим по́судом Господнього дому, а царем над Юдеєю та Єрусалимом настановив брата його Седекі́ю.

Zedekiah King of Judah

Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.

Седекі́я був віку двадцяти й одно́го року, коли він зацарював, і він царював в Єрусалимі одина́дцять років.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah his God; he humbled not himself before the prophet Jeremiah speaking from the mouth of Jehovah.

І робив він зло в оча́х Господа, Бога свого, — не впокори́вся перед пророком Єремією, що говорив із нака́зу Господнього.

13

And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him take oath by God; and he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from returning to Jehovah the God of Israel.

І він також відкинувся від царя Навуходоно́сора, що був заприсягнув його Господом, — і вчинив твердо́ю свою шию, і став запе́клим, щоб не наверта́тися до Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого.

14

All the chiefs of the priests also, and the people, increased their transgressions, according to all the abominations of the nations; and they defiled the house of Jehovah which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

Також усі зве́рхники священиків та наро́ду ще більше грішили, шануючи гидо́ти поган, і вони занечи́стили Господній дім, якого Він освятив в Єрусалимі.

15

The Fall of Jerusalem

And Jehovah the God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending; because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling-place.

А Господь, Бог їхніх батьків, усе посилав до них через Своїх послів слова остороги, бо Він змилосе́рдився над народом Своїм та над осе́лею Своєю.

16

But they mocked at the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the fury of Jehovah rose against his people, and there was no remedy.

16

Та вони соро́мили Божих послів, і пого́рджували їхніми слова́ми, і насміха́лися з Його пророків, аж поки не піднісся гнів Господа на народ Його так, що не було вже ліку.

17

And he brought up [against] them the king of the Chaldees, and slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and spared not young man nor maiden, old man nor him of hoary head: he gave [them] all into his hand.

17

І Він навів на них халдейського царя, і той позабива́в мече́м їхніх ви́браних у домі їхньої святині, і не змилосе́рдився ані над юнако́м, ані над ді́вчиною, ані над стари́м, ані над старе́зним, — усе дав в його руку...

18

And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king and of his princes, he brought all to Babylon.

18

І всі речі Божого дому, вели́кі та малі́, і ска́рби дому Господнього та дому царя й його зверхників, — усе переніс до Вавилону.

19

And they burned the house of God, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burned all the palaces thereof with fire, and all the precious vessels thereof were given up to destruction.

І спали́ли вони Божий дім, і порозбива́ли мур Єрусалиму, і всі пала́ти його попали́ли огнем, а всі дорогі́ речі його пони́щили...

20

And them that had escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon; and they became servants to him and his sons, until the reign of the kingdom of Persia;

20

І пішло́ на вигна́ння до Вавилону позоста́ле від меча́, і стали йому та синам його за рабів аж до зацарювання перського царства,

21

to fulfil the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept sabbath, to fulfil seventy years.

щоб ви́повнилося Господнє слово, проре́чене Єреміїними устами, аж поки вподо́бає собі земля свої суботи, — по всі дні її спусто́шення святкува́ла вона суботи, щоб спо́внилися сімдеся́т літ.

The Proclamation of Cyrus

And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he made a proclamation throughout his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

А першого року Кіра, царя перського, коли спо́внилось слово Господнє, проре́чене устами Єреміїними, збудив Господь духа Кі́ра, царя перського, і він оголосив по всьому царству своє́му, а також на письмі, говорячи:

23

Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth has Jehovah the God of the heavens given to me, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whosoever there is among you of all his people, Jehovah his God be with him, and let him go up.

„Так говорить Кір, цар перський: Усі зе́мні царства дав мені Госпо́дь, Бог Небесний, і Він наклав на мене збудувати Йому храма в Єрусалимі, що в Юдеї. Хто між вами з усьо́го Його наро́ду, — нехай буде Госпо́дь, Бог його, з ним, і нехай він іде до Єрусалиму!“
