Zophar Rebukes Job
And Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,
And Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,
Тогда Софар из Наамы ответил Иову и сказал:
Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man of much talk be justified?
"Такому потоку должно ответить! Делают ли эти речи правым Иова? Нет!
Should thy fictions make men hold their peace? and shouldest thou mock, and no one make [thee] ashamed?
Ты думаешь, Иов, у нас нет для тебя ответа? Ты думаешь, что в осмеянье Бога тебя никто не остановит?
For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
Иов, ты Богу говоришь, что чист и верен в доводах своих.
But oh that +God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
Я хотел бы, Иов, чтоб Бог ответил тебе и сказал, что ты не прав.
And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, how that they are the double of what is realised; and know that +God passeth by [much] of thine iniquity!
Бог мог бы тебе открыть секреты мудрости. Он сказал бы тебе, что у каждой истории есть две стороны. Иов, ты знаешь, что Господь наказывает тебя не так сильно, как должен бы.
Canst thou by searching find out +God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?
Иов, ты думаешь, что вправду Бога понимаешь? Как можешь ты постигнуть Бога Всемогущего?!
[It is as] the heights of heaven; what wilt thou do? deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know?
Ты ничего, Иов, не можешь сделать с тем, что происходит в небесах! О месте смерти ничего не знаешь ты.
The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
Господь громадней, чем земля, и больше всех морей.
If he pass by, and shut up, and call to judgment, who can hinder him?
Кто может Его остановить, когда берёт Он, запирает на замок и собирает суд над вами?
For he knoweth vain men, and seeth wickedness when [man] doth not consider it;
Воистину Он знает — кто бесценен. Когда Бог видит зло, Он зла не забывает.
Yet a senseless man will make bold, though man be born [like] the foal of a wild ass.
Ослица человека не родит, и глупый никогда не станет мудрым.
If thou prepare thy heart and stretch out thy hands toward him,
Ты должен быть готов, Иов, чтоб сердце твоё служило только Богу, ты должен руки простереть к Нему.
If thou put far away the iniquity which is in thy hand, and let not wrong dwell in thy tents;
Избавиться ты должен от греха, что в твоем доме поселился. Не позволяй злу жить в твоём шатре.
Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot, and thou shalt be stedfast and shalt not fear:
Тогда б ты без стыда взглянул на Бога, ты был бы крепок и не ведал страха.
For thou shalt forget misery; as waters that are passed away shalt thou remember it;
Тогда б ты позабыл свои несчастья, тогда бы были, как утекшая вода, все твои беды.
And life shall arise brighter than noonday; though thou be enshrouded in darkness, thou shalt be as the morning,
Тогда полуденного солнца ярче была бы жизнь твоя, тогда б и темные твои минуты сияли, словно солнце.
And thou shalt have confidence, because there shall be hope; and having searched about [thee], thou shalt take rest in safety.
Ты был бы в безопасности — надежда с тобою рядом бы была, и дал бы отдых Бог, заботясь о тебе.
Yea, thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; and many shall seek thy favour.
Ты смог бы лечь и отдохнуть, никто б тебя не беспокоил. И много бы пришло народу за помощью к тебе.
