Job Submits Himself to God

And Job answered Jehovah and said,

1

Тогда ответил Господу Иов:

I know that thou canst do everything, and that thou canst be hindered in no thought of thine.

2

"Я знаю, Господи, Ты можешь всё, Ты строишь Свои планы, и ничто их изменить не может.

3

Who is he that obscureth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered what I did not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

Ты, Господи, вопрос мне задал: кто этот человек, который все Мои советы затемняет словами неразумными? Господь, я говорил о том, что слишком велико для моего рассудка, я этого не разумел.

Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and inform me.

Ты мне сказал: "Иов, послушай, Я буду спрашивать тебя, и ты ответь".

I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee:

Я в прошлом слышал о Тебе, Господь, теперь же видел я Тебя воочию.

Wherefore I abhor [myself], and repent in dust and ashes.

Мне стыдно за себя, Господь, я очень сожалею! Сижу в пыли и пепле, но обещаю изменить и жизнь, и сердце".

The Lord Rebukes Job's Friends

And it came to pass after Jehovah had spoken these words to Job, that Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, Mine anger is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken rightly of me, like my servant Job.

Господь, закончив говорить с Иовом, говорил с Елифазом из Тимана. Господь сказал Елифазу: "Я рассержен на тебя и твоих двух друзей, потому что ты ничего не сказал правильного обо Мне. Но Иов — мой слуга, он сказал обо Мне верно.

And now, take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for him will I accept: lest I deal with you [after your] folly, for ye have not spoken of me rightly, like my servant Job.

Так что теперь, Елифаз, возьми семь быков и семь баранов и отнеси их Моему слуге Иову, убей их и воздай как жертву за себя. Мой раб Иов будет молиться за вас, и Я отвечу молитве его, Я не накажу вас по заслугам, хотя вы должны быть наказаны, потому что вы ничего правильного обо Мне не сказали, но мой слуга Иов сказал всё верно".

Then Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did according as Jehovah had said unto them; and Jehovah accepted Job.

Так что Елифаз из Тимана, Билдад из Шуа и Зафар из Наама подчинились Господу. И Господь услышал молитву Иова.

God Blesses Job

And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he had prayed for his friends; and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Иов молился за своих друзей, и Бог его снова сделал удачливым и дал ему вдвое больше того, что он имел прежде.

And all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house, and they condoled with him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him; and every one gave him a piece of money, and every one a golden ring.

Все братья и сестры вернулись в дом Иова, и каждый, кто знал Иова прежде, пришёл в его дом и ел с ним вместе; они утешали его и чувствовали сожаление, что Бог принёс Иову столько несчастий; каждый дал Иову кусок серебра и золотое кольцо.

And Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.

Господь благословил последние дни Иова больше, чем в первой половине его жизни. У Иова было четырнадцать тысяч овец, шесть тысяч верблюдов, две тысячи коров и тысяча ослиц.

And he had seven sons and three daughters.

Было у Иова также семь сыновей и три дочери.

And he called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.

Первую дочь Иов назвал Емима, вторую дочь — Кассия, а третью — Керенгаппух.

15

And in all the land were no women found [so] fair as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

Дочери Иова были самыми красивыми женщинами во всей стране. Иов дал им часть своего богатства. Их братья тоже получили часть наследства.

16

And Job lived after this a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations.

16

И жил Иов ещё сто сорок лет, он увидел своих детей, своих внуков, своих правнуков и праправнуков.

17

And Job died, old and full of days.

17

Иов умер, прожив достойную жизнь. Он дожил до глубокой старости.
