Darby Bible Translation

New Living Translation

  • The Two Paths

    Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners;
  • Book One
    (Psalms 1–41)

Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
    or stand around with sinners,
    or join in with mockers.
  • But his delight is in Jehovah's law, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
  • But they delight in the law of the LORD,
meditating on it day and night.
  • And he [is] as a tree planted by brooks of water, which giveth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf fadeth not; and all that he doeth prospereth.
  • They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
    bearing fruit each season.
    Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
  • The wicked are not so; but are as the chaff which the wind driveth away.
  • But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
  • Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
  • They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
  • For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.
  • For the LORD watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
