Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Jehovah my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with majesty and splendour;

Благослови, душе моя, Господа! Господи, Боже мій, великий єси вельми! Ти одягнувсь величчю й красою,
Covering thyself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent-curtain; --
ти світлом, наче ризою, покрився. Ти розіп'яв, неначе намет, небо.
Who layeth the beams of his upper chambers in the waters, who maketh clouds his chariot, who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
Ти збудував твої горниці в водах. Із хмар собі робиш колісницю, ходиш на крилах вітру.
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flame of fire.
Вітри своїми посланцями учиняєш, полум'я вогненне — слугами своїми.
He laid the earth upon its foundations: it shall not be removed for ever.
Ти заснував землю на її підвалинах — не захитається по віки вічні.
Thou hadst covered it with the deep, as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains:
Безоднею, немов одежею, покрив її, понад горами стали води.
At thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away; --
Перед погрозою твоєю вони втікали, перед голосом грому твого тремтіли.
The mountains rose, the valleys sank, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them; --
Звелися гори, зійшли долини до місця, що ти їм призначив.
Thou hast set a bound which they may not pass over, that they turn not again to cover the earth.
Поставив їм границю, якої не перейдуть, щоб знову покрити землю.
He sendeth the springs into the valleys: they run among the mountains;
Джерела посилаєш у ріки, які течуть проміж горами.
They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.
Усю звірину, що в полі, вони напувають, дикі осли там гасять свою спрагу.
The birds of heaven dwell by them; they give forth their voice from among the branches.
Над ними кублиться небесне птаство з-поміж гілляк дає свій голос.
He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
Ти напуваєш гори з твоїх горниць, земля насичується плодом діл твоїх
He maketh the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; bringing forth bread out of the earth,
Вирощуєш траву для скоту, зела — на вжиток людям; щоб хліб із землі добували:
And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making [his] face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man's heart.
вино, що серце людське звеселяє олію, щоб від неї ясніло обличчя, і хліб, що скріплює серце людське.
The trees of Jehovah are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted,
Насичуються дерева Господні, кедри ливанські, що посадив їх.
Where the birds make their nests; [as for] the stork, the fir trees are her house.
На них гніздяться птиці; бусли — на кипарисах їхнє житло.
The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs, a refuge for the rock-badgers.
Високі гори для кіз диких, скелі — для борсуків притулок.
He made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth its going down.
Ти створив місяць, щоб значити пори; сонце знає свій захід.
Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth:
Наводиш темряву, і ніч надходить, що в ній ворушаться усі звірі дібровні.
The young lions roar after the prey, and to seek their food from God.
Левенята рикають за здобиччю своєю, поживи від Бога собі просять.
The sun ariseth, they retreat, and lay them down in their dens.
Ховаються, як тільки зійде сонце, лягають у своїх барлогах.
Man goeth forth unto his work, and to his labour until the evening.
Виходить чоловік до свого діла й до своєї праці аж до вечора.
How manifold are thy works, O Jehovah! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
Яка їх, твоїх діл, Господи, сила! У мудрості усе ти створив, — повна земля твоїх створінь.
Yonder is the great and wide sea: therein are moving things innumerable, living creatures small and great.
Ось море велике, прешироке, у ньому плазунів безліку, звірів малих і великих.
There go the ships; [there] that leviathan, which thou hast formed to play therein.
Там кораблі проходять, є і Левіятан, котрого ти створив, щоб ним бавитися.
These all look unto thee, that thou mayest give their food in its season:
Усі вони від тебе дожидають, щоб дав їм у свій час поживу.
That thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good.
Коли даєш їм, вони її збирають, як розтулюєш твою руку, вони насичуються благом.
Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust.
Вони бентежаться, коли ховаєш вид твій; як забираєш дух у них, вони гинуть і повертаються в свій порох.
Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth.
Зішлеш твій дух, — вони оживають і ти відновлюєш лице землі.
The glory of Jehovah will endure for ever; Jehovah will rejoice in his works.
Нехай слава Господня буде повіки нехай Господь радіє творами своїми;
He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
спогляне він на землю, і вона стрясається, торкнеться гір, — вони димують.
I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing psalms to my God while I have my being.
Я буду Господеві співати поки життя мого, псалми співатиму, скільки буду жити.
My meditation shall be pleasant unto him; I will rejoice in Jehovah.
Хай буде приємна йому моя пісня; у Господі я веселитимусь.
