His Loving Kindness Endures Forever

Give ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness [endureth] for ever.

1

Хваліте Господа, бо добрий, бо милість його повіки.

2

Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,

Так нехай скажуть ті, що їх викупив Господь, котрих він викупив з руки гнобителя

3

And gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

3

і котрих зібрав з країв, зо сходу й заходу, з півночі і з-поза моря.

4

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;

4

Вони блукали пустинею, на безлюдді, дороги не знайшли до міста, де б їм жити.

5

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:

5

Голодні й спраглі, — душа їхня всередині умлівала;

6

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he delivered them out of their distresses,

6

тоді вони до Господа візвали в своїй скруті, і він визволив їх із скорбот їхніх.

7

And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

7

Він вів їх дорогою простою, щоб ішли до міста, де б їм жити.

8

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

8

Хай славлять Господа за його милість і чудеса його над людськими синами.

9

For he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.

9

Бо він наситив спраглу душу і зголоднілу душу сповнив благом.

10

Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,

10

Вони сиділи в тьмі й тіні смерти, скуті нуждою й залізом,

11

Because they had rebelled against the words of God, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; ...

11

бо збунтувалися проти слів Божих і погордували радою Всевишнього.

12

And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:

12

їхнє серце він упокорив бідою, вони спіткнулися, але помічника не було.

13

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses;

13

Тоді вони до Господа візвали в своїй скруті, і він визволив їх із скорбот їхніх.

14

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

14

Він вивів їх із тьми й тіні смерти і розбив їхні кайдани.

15

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

15

Хай славлять Господа за його милість і чудеса його над людськими синами.

16

For he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.

16

Бо він розбив мосяжні брами і розламав залізнії засуви.

17

Fools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;

17

Вони нездужали через свої переступи, прибиті за свої провини.

18

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:

18

Усяка їжа їхній душі набридла і вони наблизились до брам смерти.

19

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses;

19

Тоді вони до Господа візвали в своїй скруті, і він визволив їх із скорбот їхніх.

20

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.

20

Він послав своє слово й вилікував їх, і врятував їх із могили.

21

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,

21

Хай славлять Господа за його милість і чудеса його над людськими синами.

22

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.

22

Хай принесуть подячні жертви і з радістю діла його прославлять.

23

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,

23

Ті, що у суднах пускаються на море, що ведуть торгівлю на водах великих,

24

These see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.

24

побачили діла Господні і чудеса його в морській глибині.

25

For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:

25

Сказав, і буйний вітер знявся й підніс високо морські хвилі.

26

They mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;

26

Знялись під саме небо, спустилися в безодню, в біді душа їхня танула.

27

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:

27

І захиталися вони й закружляли, немов п'яний, пропала вся їхня мудрість.

28

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;

28

Тоді вони до Господа візвали в своїй скруті, і визволив їх із скорботи їхньої.

29

He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:

29

Він зробив з бурі тишу і втихомирив морські хвилі,

30

And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

30

й вони зраділи, що затихло; він до бажаної пристані привів їх.

31

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

31

Хай славлять Господа за його милість і чудеса його над людськими синами.

32

Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.

32

нехай його позносять на народних зборах на раді старших хай його прославляють.

33

He maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;

33

Він ріки обертає в пустиню, джерела вод — у суху землю.

34

A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

34

У солончаки плодючу землю — через її мешканців злобу.

35

He maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;

35

Він обертає пустиню в озеро воднисте і суху землю у водні джерела.

36

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

36

Там оселює зголоднілих, щоб заснували місто для оселі,

37

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;

37

щоб засівали ниви, виноградники садили, що дають урожай достатній.

38

And he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

38

Благословляє їх, і вони множаться вельми; не допускає, щоб у них худоби стало мало.

39

And they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:

39

їх змаліло, вони були прибиті утиском лихим та горем.

40

He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;

40

І той, що на князів кидає ганьбу, що їх блукати силує глухою пустинею,

41

But he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh [him] families like flocks.

41

підняв злиденного з нужди і його сім'ї, мов овець, розмножив.

42

The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.

42

Бачать те праві та радіють, і кожна злоба затуляє рот свій.

43

Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.

43

Хто мудрий, хай запримітить оці речі і хай зрозуміє милості Господні.
