His Loving Kindness Endures Forever

Give ye thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; for his loving-kindness [endureth] for ever.

1

Х валїте Господа! Він бо благий, бо милість його по віки.

2

Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the oppressor,

Да скажуть вибавлені від Господа, котрих він вислобонив з руки ворога,

3

And gathered out of the countries, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

3

І котрих до купи зібрав з країв, зі сходу і заходу, з півночі і від моря.

4

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way, they found no city of habitation;

4

Вони блукали в пустинї, по степових шляхах, не знайшли місця собі на оселю.

5

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them:

5

Терплючи голод і смагу, вони томились душею.

6

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he delivered them out of their distresses,

Тодї взивали до Господа в тїснотї своїй, і він визволяв їх з біди їх.

7

And he led them forth by a right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

7

І він проводив їх правою дорогою, щоб прийти до людяного міста.

8

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

8

Да славлять Господа за милість його, і чудеса його над синами людськими!

9

For he hath satisfied the longing soul and filled the hungry soul with good.

9

Він бо наситив душу прагнущу, й голодуючу душу сповнив добром.

10

Such as inhabit darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and iron,

Седїли вони в тьмі і в тїнї смертї, сковані нуждою і желїзом,

11

Because they had rebelled against the words of God, and had despised the counsel of the Most High; ...

11

Бувши впертими проти слова Божого і зневажаючи волю Всевишнього,

12

And he bowed down their heart with labour; they stumbled, and there was none to help:

12

Тому смирив він серце їх бідою; вони падали, і не було помочі для них.

13

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saved them out of their distresses;

13

Тодї Господа вони благали у своїй тїснотї, і він спасав їх з біди їх.

14

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.

14

Вивів їх з темноти і з тїнї смертної, і розбив їх кайдани.

15

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

15

Нехай прославляють Господа за милість його і за чудеса його над синами людськими!

16

For he hath broken the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron.

16

Він бо розломив брами мідянї, і сокрушив засуви желїзні.

17

Fools, because of their way of transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted;

17

Безумні — за свої переступні дороги і за свої несправедливостї караються.

18

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death:

18

Душа їх одвертається від їжи, і вони приближились до воріт смертних.

19

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, [and] he saveth them out of their distresses;

19

Тодї благають Господа в своїй тїснотї, і він визволяє їх з біди їх.

20

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their destructions.

20

Посилає слово своє і вертає їм здоровлє, і спасає їх від домовини їх.

21

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men,

21

Нехай прославляють Господа за милість його і за чудеса його над синами людськими!

22

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works in joyful song.

22

Нехай принесуть жертву хвали, і піснями прославлять дїла його!

23

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters,

23

Ті, що в суднах пускаються на море, на водах великих мають торгове дїло,

24

These see the works of Jehovah, and his wonders in the deep.

24

Вони бачать дїла Господнї і чудесні творива його в глибинї;

25

For he speaketh, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof:

25

Рече він, і буйний вітер знявся, що високо підносить филї.

26

They mount up to the heavens, they go down to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble;

26

Кидає ними під небо, провалює їх в безодню, в бідї душа їх млїє.

27

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at their wits' end:

27

Мотаються, хиляються, як чоловік пяний, поникла вся мудрість їх.

28

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses;

28

Тодї до Господа вони у своїй тїснотї взивають, і він виводить їх з біди їх.

29

He maketh the storm a calm, and the waves thereof are still:

29

Він переміняє хуртовину на тишину, і филї втихомирились.

30

And they rejoice because they are quiet; and he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

30

І вони радїють, що стає тихо, і до бажаної пристанї він їх приводить.

31

Let them give thanks unto Jehovah for his loving-kindness, and for his wondrous works to the children of men;

31

Нехай прославляють Господа за милість його і за чудеса його для синів людських,

32

Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the session of the elders.

32

І возносять його в зборі людей, і в радї старших хвалять його!

33

He maketh rivers into a wilderness, and water-springs into dry ground;

33

Він обертає ріки в пустиню, і жерела водні в суходіл,

34

A fruitful land into a plain of salt, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

34

Плодовиту землю — в соляний степ, за злобу живущих там.

35

He maketh the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs;

35

Він обертає й пустиню в озера водисті, і суходіл в жерела водні;

36

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;

36

І поселяє там голодних, і закладають оселю.

37

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase;

37

Засївають поля, насаджують виноградники, котрі видають овочі і плоди.

38

And he blesseth them, so that they are multiplied greatly; and he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

38

Він благословить їх, і вони вельми розмножуються; і скота дає їм не мало.

39

And they are diminished and brought low, through oppression, adversity, and sorrow:

39

Часами стає їх меньше, і вони хиляються від неволї, горя і нещастя.

40

He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;

40

Він кидає сором на князїв, і велить їм блукати в безлюддї і в безвіддї;

41

But he secureth the needy one on high from affliction, and maketh [him] families like flocks.

41

Бідного він з нужди видвигає, і роди його, як стадо, розмножує.

42

The upright shall see it, and rejoice; and all unrighteousness shall stop its mouth.

42

Щирі серцем побачать се і звеселяться, і всяка несправедливість зацїпить уста свої.

43

Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them understand the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah.

43

Хто мудрий, той замітить ті речі, і нехай зрозуміють милостї Господнї.
