Darby Bible Translation

New King James Version

  • The Providence of God

    {Of David. Instruction.} Blessed is he [whose] transgression is forgiven, [whose] sin is covered!
  • The Joy of Forgiveness

    A Psalm of David. A [a]Contemplation.

    Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
    Whose sin is covered.
  • Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah reckoneth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile!
  • Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not [b]impute iniquity,
    And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
  • When I kept silence, my bones waxed old, through my groaning all the day long.
  • When I kept silent, my bones grew old
    Through my groaning all the day long.
  • For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; my moisture was turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
  • For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
    My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah
  • I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity I covered not; I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah, and *thou* forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
  • I acknowledged my sin to You,
    And my iniquity I have not hidden.
    I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
    And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
  • For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee at a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they will not reach him.
  • For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You
    In a time when You may be found;
    Surely in a flood of great waters
    They shall not come near him.
  • Thou art a hiding-place for me; thou preservest me from trouble; thou dost encompass me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
  • You are my hiding place;
    You shall preserve me from trouble;
    You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
  • I will instruct thee and teach thee the way in which thou shalt go; I will counsel [thee] with mine eye upon thee.
  • I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will guide you with My eye.
  • Be ye not as a horse, as a mule, which have no understanding: whose trappings must be bit and bridle, for restraint, or they will not come unto thee.
  • Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
    Which have no understanding,
    Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
    Else they will not come near you.
  • Many sorrows hath the wicked; but he that confideth in Jehovah, loving-kindness shall encompass him.
  • Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
    But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.
  • Rejoice in Jehovah, and be glad, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye upright in heart.
  • Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous;
    And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
