Давидова пісня про науку людям. Блажен, кому проститься беззаконнє, кому гріх буде покритий.
Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah reckoneth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile!
Щаслив чоловік, котрому не полїчить Господь несправедливість його, в кого нема зради в серцї!
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old, through my groaning all the day long.
Як я мовчав, нидїли сустави мої від мого зітхання цїлий день.
For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; my moisture was turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
Бо цїлий день тяготїла на менї рука твоя; соки мої висохли як під лїтню спеку.
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity I covered not; I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah, and *thou* forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Я виявив гріх мій перед тобою, і не покрив несправедливостї моєї. Я сказав: признаюся перед Господом в переступах моїх, а ти, ти простив несправедливість гріха мого.
For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee at a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they will not reach him.
Тому нехай помолиться до тебе кожний побожний в час, коли мож знайти тебе; річ певна, хоч би прийшла велика повінь — не досягне його.
Thou art a hiding-place for me; thou preservest me from trouble; thou dost encompass me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Ти мій рятунок; спасаєш мене в тїснотї, ти сповняєш мене радостю спасення.
I will instruct thee and teach thee the way in which thou shalt go; I will counsel [thee] with mine eye upon thee.
Навчу тебе і вкажу дорогу, по котрій тобі ходити; звернувши очі мої на тебе, дам тобі раду.
Be ye not as a horse, as a mule, which have no understanding: whose trappings must be bit and bridle, for restraint, or they will not come unto thee.
Не будьте як кінь, як мул, що розуму не має; наховставши уздою, окрасою їх, мусиш усмирити їх, коли не хочуть ійти за тобою.
Many sorrows hath the wicked; but he that confideth in Jehovah, loving-kindness shall encompass him.
Великі болестї для беззаконника; хто ж вповає на Господа, того обгорне милосердє твоє.
