Darby Bible Translation

New Living Translation

  • There is No Fear of God Before his Eyes

    {To the chief Musician. [A Psalm] of the servant of Jehovah; of David.} The transgression of the wicked uttereth within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes.
  • For the choir director: A psalm of David, the servant of the LORD.

    Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts.a
    They have no fear of God at all.
  • For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, [even] when his iniquity is found to be hateful.
  • In their blind conceit,
    they cannot see how wicked they really are.
  • The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, to do good.
  • Everything they say is crooked and deceitful.
    They refuse to act wisely or do good.
  • He deviseth wickedness up on his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good: he abhorreth not evil.
  • They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots.
    Their actions are never good.
    They make no attempt to turn from evil.
  • Jehovah, thy loving-kindness is in the heavens, and thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the clouds.
  • Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
  • Thy righteousness is like the high mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: thou, Jehovah, preservest man and beast.
  • Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
    your justice like the ocean depths.
    You care for people and animals alike, O LORD.
  • How precious is thy loving-kindness, O God! So the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
  • How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
    All humanity finds shelter
    in the shadow of your wings.
  • They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
  • You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
    letting them drink from your river of delights.
  • For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
  • For you are the fountain of life,
    the light by which we see.
  • Continue thy loving-kindness unto them that know thee, and thy righteousness to the upright in heart;
  • Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you;
    give justice to those with honest hearts.
  • Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
  • Don’t let the proud trample me
    or the wicked push me around.
  • There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and are not able to rise.
  • Look! Those who do evil have fallen!
    They are thrown down, never to rise again.
