Darby Bible Translation

New King James Version

  • The Mighty One Calls

    {A Psalm. Of Asaph.} God, Elohim-Jehovah, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
  • God the Righteous Judge

    A Psalm of Asaph.

    The Mighty One, God the Lord,
    Has spoken and called the earth
    From the rising of the sun to its going down.
  • Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.
  • Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
    God will shine forth.
  • Our God will come, and will not keep silence: fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
  • Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;
    A fire shall devour before Him,
    And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.
  • He will call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
  • He shall call to the heavens from above,
    And to the earth, that He may judge His people:
  • Gather unto me my godly ones, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice!
  • “Gather My saints together to Me,
    Those who have [a]made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
  • And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God executeth judgment himself. Selah.
  • Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
    For God Himself is Judge. Selah
  • Hear, my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, thy God.
  • “Hear, O My people, and I will speak,
    O Israel, and I will testify against you;
    I am God, your God!
  • I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt-offerings, continually before me;
  • I will not [b]rebuke you for your sacrifices
    Or your burnt offerings,
    Which are continually before Me.
  • I will take no bullock out of thy house, [nor] he-goats out of thy folds:
  • I will not take a bull from your house,
    Nor goats out of your folds.
  • For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle upon a thousand hills;
  • For every beast of the forest is Mine,
    And the cattle on a thousand hills.
  • I know all the fowl of the mountains, and the roaming creatures of the field are mine:
  • I know all the birds of the mountains,
    And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
  • If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
  • “If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
    For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.
  • Should I eat the flesh of bulls, and drink the blood of goats?
  • Will I eat the flesh of bulls,
    Or drink the blood of goats?
  • Offer unto God thanksgiving, and perform thy vows unto the Most High;
  • Offer to God thanksgiving,
    And pay your vows to the Most High.
  • And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
  • Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
    I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
  • But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant into thy mouth,
  • But to the wicked God says:
    “What right have you to declare My statutes,
    Or take My covenant in your mouth,
  • Seeing thou hast hated correction and hast cast my words behind thee?
  • Seeing you hate instruction
    And cast My words behind you?
  • When thou sawest a thief, thou didst take pleasure in him, and thy portion was with adulterers;
  • When you saw a thief, you consented[c] with him,
    And have been a partaker with adulterers.
  • Thou lettest thy mouth loose to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit;
  • You give your mouth to evil,
    And your tongue frames deceit.
  • Thou sittest [and] speakest against thy brother, thou revilest thine own mother's son:
  • You sit and speak against your brother;
    You slander your own mother’s son.
  • These [things] hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.
  • These things you have done, and I kept silent;
    You thought that I was altogether like you;
    But I will rebuke you,
    And set them in order before your eyes.
  • Now consider this, ye that forget +God, lest I tear in pieces, and there be no deliverer.
  • “Now consider this, you who forget God,
    Lest I tear you in pieces,
    And there be none to deliver:
  • Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me; and to him that ordereth [his] way will I shew the salvation of God.
  • Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;
    And to him who orders his conduct aright
    I will show the salvation of God.”
