  • Vindicate Me in Your Might

    {To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments: an instruction. Of David; when the Ziphites came, and said to Saul, Is not David hiding himself with us?} O God, by thy name save me, and by thy strength do me justice.
  • The Lord Upholds My Life

    To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Maskila of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, “Is not David hiding among us?”

    O God, save me by your name,
    and vindicate me by your might.
  • O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.
  • O God, hear my prayer;
    give ear to the words of my mouth.
  • For strangers are risen up against me, and the violent seek after my life: they have not set God before them. Selah.
  • For strangersb have risen against me;
    ruthless men seek my life;
    they do not set God before themselves. Selah
  • Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is among them that uphold my soul.
  • Behold, God is my helper;
    the Lord is the upholder of my life.
  • He will requite evil to mine enemies: in thy truth cut them off.
  • He will return the evil to my enemies;
    in your faithfulness put an end to them.
  • I will freely sacrifice unto thee; I will praise thy name, O Jehovah, because it is good.
  • With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you;
    I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
  • For he hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath seen [its desire] upon mine enemies.
  • For he has delivered me from every trouble,
    and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.
