Darby Bible Translation

English Standard Version

  • Don't Rebuke Me in Your Anger

    {To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments, upon Sheminith. A Psalm of David.} Jehovah, rebuke me not in thine anger, and chasten me not in thy hot displeasure.
  • O Lord, Deliver My Life

    To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith.a A Psalm of David.

    O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger,
    nor discipline me in your wrath.
  • Be gracious unto me, Jehovah, for I am withered; Jehovah, heal me, for my bones tremble.
  • Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
    heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.
  • And my soul trembleth exceedingly: and thou, Jehovah, till how long?
  • My soul also is greatly troubled.
    But you, O Lord — how long?
  • Return, Jehovah, free my soul; save me for thy loving-kindness' sake.
  • Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;
    save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
  • For in death there is no remembrance of thee; in Sheol who shall give thanks unto thee?
  • For in death there is no remembrance of you;
    in Sheol who will give you praise?
  • I am wearied with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I dissolve my couch with my tears.
  • I am weary with my moaning;
    every night I flood my bed with tears;
    I drench my couch with my weeping.
  • Mine eye wasteth away through grief; it hath grown old because of all mine oppressors.
  • My eye wastes away because of grief;
    it grows weak because of all my foes.
  • Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for Jehovah hath heard the voice of my weeping.
  • Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
    for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
  • Jehovah hath heard my supplication; Jehovah receiveth my prayer.
  • The Lord has heard my plea;
    the Lord accepts my prayer.
  • All mine enemies shall be ashamed and tremble exceedingly; they will turn, they will be ashamed suddenly.
  • All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;
    they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.
