In Distress, I Sought the Lord

{To the chief Musician. On Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A Psalm.} My voice is unto God, and I will cry; my voice is unto God, and he will give ear unto me.

Наставление Асафа.
[1] Слушай, народ мой, мое поучение,
услышь мои слова!

2

In the day of my trouble, I sought the Lord: my hand was stretched out in the night, and slacked not; my soul refused to be comforted.

Открою уста свои в притче,
произнесу загадки из древности,

3

I remembered God, and I moaned; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

которые мы слышали и узнали,
которые рассказали нам наши отцы.

4

Thou holdest open mine eyelids; I am full of disquiet and cannot speak.

4

Мы не будем скрывать их от детей;
расскажем грядущему поколению о славе Господа,
о Его силе и о чудесах, Им сотворенных.

I consider the days of old, the years of ancient times.

5

Он оставил свидетельство Иакову,
дал Закон в Израиле,
который повелел нашим отцам
передавать своим детям,

I remember my song in the night; I muse in mine own heart, and my spirit maketh diligent search.

чтобы знало грядущее поколение,
дети, которые еще не родились,
и чтобы они в свое время передали его своим детям.

Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

И тогда они будут возлагать свою надежду на Бога;
они не станут забывать Его дел,
но будут хранить Его повеления.

8

Hath his loving-kindness ceased for ever? hath [his] word come to an end from generation to generation?

Они не уподобятся своим отцам,
поколению упрямому и мятежному,
чьи сердца не были верны Богу,
чей дух не был предан Ему.

9

Hath God forgotten to be gracious? or hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

Сыны Ефрема, хотя и вооруженные луками,
обратились вспять в день битвы.

Then said I, This is my weakness: -- the years of the right hand of the Most High

Не хранили они завета Божьего
и отказались ходить в Его Законе.

Will I remember, -- the works of Jah; for I will remember thy wonders of old,

Забыли дела Его и чудеса,
которые Он им показал.

And I will meditate upon all thy work, and muse upon thy doings.

в окрестностях Цоана.159

O God, thy way is in the sanctuary: who is so great a god as God?

Он разделил море и провел их через него,
поставив воды стеной.160

14

Thou art the God that doest wonders; thou hast declared thy strength among the peoples.

Днем вел их облаком,
ночью — светом огня.161

15

Thou hast with [thine] arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

15

Он рассек скалу в пустыне
и дал им пить, как будто из вод глубоких.162

16

The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they trembled, yea, the depths were troubled:

Из камня извлек Он потоки,
и воды потекли, как реки.163

17

The thick clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound, yea, thine arrows went abroad:

Но они продолжали грешить против Него
и бунтовать против Всевышнего в пустыне.

18

The voice of thy thunder was in the whirlwind, lightnings lit up the world; the earth was troubled and it quaked.

Испытывали Бога в своих сердцах,
требуя пищи, которая им по душе;

19

Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths are in the great waters; and thy footsteps are not known.

19

оскорбляли Бога говоря:
«Может ли Бог накрыть стол в пустыне?

20

Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

20

Да, Он ударил скалу, и из нее потекли воды,
хлынули потоки,
но может ли Он дать хлеба,
может ли дать мяса Своему народу?»164
