Псалом Асафа. Боже! язычники пришли в наследие Твоё, осквернили святой храм Твой, Иерусалим превратили в развалины;
I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter riddles from of old,
трупы рабов Твоих отдали на съедение птицам небесным, тела святых Твоих — зверям земным;
Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us:
пролили кровь их, как воду, вокруг Иерусалима, и некому было похоронить их.
We will not hide [them] from their sons, shewing forth to the generation to come the praises of Jehovah, and his strength, and his marvellous works which he hath done.
Мы сделались посмешищем у соседей наших, поруганием и посрамлением у окружающих нас.
For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children;
Доколе, Господи, будешь гневаться непрестанно, будет пылать ревность Твоя, как огонь?
That the generation to come might know [them], the children that should be born; that they might rise up and tell [them] to their children,
Пролей гнев Твой на народы, которые не знают Тебя, и на царства, которые имени Твоего не призывают,
And that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but observe his commandments;
ибо они пожрали Иакова и жилище его опустошили.
And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that prepared not their heart, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
Не помяни нам грехов наших предков; скоро да предварят нас щедроты Твои, ибо мы весьма истощены.
The sons of Ephraim, armed bowmen, turned back in the day of battle.
Помоги нам, Боже, Спаситель наш, ради славы имени Твоего; избавь нас и прости нам грехи наши ради имени Твоего.
They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
Для чего язычникам говорить: «где Бог их?» Да сделается известным между язычниками пред глазами нашими отмщение за пролитую кровь рабов Твоих.
And forgot his doings, and his marvellous works which he had shewn them.
Да придёт пред лицо Твоё стенание узника; могуществом мышцы Твоей сохрани обречённых на смерть.
In the sight of their fathers had he done wonders, in the land of Egypt, the field of Zoan.
Семикратно возврати соседям нашим в недро их поношение, которым они Тебя, Господи, поносили.
