I Have Cried Day and Night Before You

{A Song, a Psalm for the sons of Korah. To the chief Musician. Upon Mahalath Leannoth. An instruction. Of Heman the Ezrahite.} Jehovah, God of my salvation, I have cried by day [and] in the night before thee.

Let my prayer come before thee; incline thine ear unto my cry.

Господи, Боже мого спасіння, я вдень кличу і вночі перед тобою скаржусь.

For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draweth nigh to Sheol.

Нехай прийде перед твоє обличчя моя молитва! Приклони твоє вухо до мого благання!

I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no strength:

Душа бо моя наситилася горем, і життя моє наблизилося до Шеолу.

Prostrate among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave; whom thou rememberest no more, and who are cut off from thy hand.

Мене залічено до тих, що сходять у яму. Я став, як чоловік, що допомоги не має.

Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in dark places, in the deeps.

Поміж мерцями моє ложе; немов убиті, що лежать в могилі, що їх не згадуєш уже більше, що їх відтято від руки твоєї.

Thy fury lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted [me] with all thy waves. Selah.

Поклав єси мене в глибоку яму, у темряву, в безодню.

Thou hast put my familiar friends far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

Тяжить на мені гнів твій, і всіма хвилями твоїми гнітиш мене.

Mine eye consumeth by reason of affliction. Upon thee, Jehovah, have I called every day; I have stretched out my hands unto thee.

Ти віддалив від мене моїх друзів; зробив мене для них осоружним, мене замкнули, і я не можу вийти.

Wilt thou do wonders to the dead? shall the shades arise and praise thee? Selah.

Очі мої знемоглися від печалі; до тебе, Господи, щодня взиваю, до тебе простягаю мої руки.

Shall thy loving-kindness be declared in the grave? thy faithfulness in Destruction?

Хіба для мертвих робиш чуда? Хіба то тіні встануть, щоб тебе хвалити?

Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

Хіба звіщатимуть у могилі твою милість, у пропасті глибокій — твою вірність?

But as for me, Jehovah, I cry unto thee, and in the morning my prayer cometh before thee.

Why, O Jehovah, castest thou off my soul? [why] hidest thou thy face from me?

Ось чому, Господи, до тебе я взиваю, і моя молитва вранці йде тобі назустріч.

15

I am afflicted and expiring from my youth up; I suffer thy terrors, [and] I am distracted.

Чому, о Господи, відкинув мою душу, ховаєш твоє обличчя від мене?

Thy fierce anger hath gone over me; thy terrors have brought me to nought:

Я безталанний, і конаю змалку; я перебув страх твій — умліваю.

17

They have surrounded me all the day like water; they have compassed me about together.

Твій палкий гнів пронісся надо мною, твої страхіття мене погубили.

18

Lover and associate hast thou put far from me: my familiar friends are darkness.

Увесь час вони оточують мене, мов води; усі разом мене обступили.
