I Have Cried Day and Night Before You

{A Song, a Psalm for the sons of Korah. To the chief Musician. Upon Mahalath Leannoth. An instruction. Of Heman the Ezrahite.} Jehovah, God of my salvation, I have cried by day [and] in the night before thee.

Пісня, псальма, для синів Корея; проводиреві хора, під Махалят Леанот; на науку; від Емана Езрагітського. Господи, Боже мій спасителю! В день і в ночі благаю тебе.

Let my prayer come before thee; incline thine ear unto my cry.

Нехай дійде до тебе молитва моя! Приклони ухо твоє до мого благання!

For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draweth nigh to Sheol.

Бо душа моя сита від муки, і життє моє близько коло пропастї підземної.

I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no strength:

Залїчено мене до тих, що йти мають в домовину; я став як чоловік, що сили не має;

5

Prostrate among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave; whom thou rememberest no more, and who are cut off from thy hand.

Моє місце між мерцями, я наче ті вбиті, що лежать в домовинї, про котрих ти не згадуєш більше, і котрі далеко від руки твоєї.

Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in dark places, in the deeps.

Ти кинув мене в глибоку яму, в тьму, в безодню.

Thy fury lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted [me] with all thy waves. Selah.

Гнїв твій лежить тягарем на менї, всїма филями твоїми ти звалив мене.

Thou hast put my familiar friends far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

Ти віддалив знакомих моїх від мене, зробив мене огидою для них; я в неволї і не можу вийти з неї.

Mine eye consumeth by reason of affliction. Upon thee, Jehovah, have I called every day; I have stretched out my hands unto thee.

Очі мої знемоглись від горя; до тебе, Господи, кликав я що дня, до тебе простирав руки мої.

Wilt thou do wonders to the dead? shall the shades arise and praise thee? Selah.

Хиба на мерцях сотвориш чудо? Хиба померші встануть і прославлять тебе?

Shall thy loving-kindness be declared in the grave? thy faithfulness in Destruction?

Хиба звіщати муть милість твою в могилї, в місцї зотлїння вірність твою?

12

Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

Хиба пізнають в темряві чудеса твої і справедливість твою в землї забуття?

13

But as for me, Jehovah, I cry unto thee, and in the morning my prayer cometh before thee.

Я ж, Господи, благаю тебе, і вранцї зустрічає тебе молитва моя.

14

Why, O Jehovah, castest thou off my soul? [why] hidest thou thy face from me?

Чого, Господи, покидаєш душу мою, одвертаєш лице твоє від мене?

15

I am afflicted and expiring from my youth up; I suffer thy terrors, [and] I am distracted.

Почавши з малку, горюю я й занепадаю; переносючи страшні допусти твої, вже здеревенїв я.

16

Thy fierce anger hath gone over me; thy terrors have brought me to nought:

Поломя гнїву твого пронеслось надо мною, страшні допусти твої знищили мене.

17

They have surrounded me all the day like water; they have compassed me about together.

Обгортали мене, як води, цїлий день, всї вони обступили мене.

18

Lover and associate hast thou put far from me: my familiar friends are darkness.

18

Віддалив єси від мене друга й товариша; моїх знакомих. — Темрява.
