Пісня хвали Давида. Хто живе під захистом Всевишнього, той перебуватиме під покровом Бога небесного.
Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from eternity to eternity thou art God.
Він скаже Господу: Ти — мій помічник, мій притулок, мій Бог. Я на Нього покладатиму надію,
Thou makest [mortal] man to return to dust, and sayest, Return, children of men.
бо Він визволить мене від пастки мисливців і від тривожної справи.
For a thousand years, in thy sight, are as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.
Своїми плечима Він закриє тебе, — ти будеш у безпеці під Його крилами: Його правда, наче щит, оточить тебе звідусіль.
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are [as] a sleep: in the morning they are like grass [that] groweth up:
Ти не злякаєшся нічного страхіття, ні стріли, що летить удень,
In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down and withereth.
ні того, що підкрадається в темряві, ні напасті чи злого духа, який приходить опівдні.
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy fury are we troubled.
Збоку від тебе впаде тисяча, десять тисяч — праворуч від тебе, та до тебе не наблизиться.
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.
Лише своїми очима будеш дивитися — і побачиш відплату грішникам.
For all our days pass away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a [passing] thought.
Адже Ти, Господи, моя надія. Всевишнього зробив ти своїм пристановищем.
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if, by reason of strength, they be fourscore years, yet their pride is labour and vanity, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
На тебе не найде зло, і лихоліття не наблизиться до твого поселення.
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? and thy wrath according to the fear of thee?
Адже Своїм ангелам накаже про тебе, щоби берегли тебе на всіх дорогах твоїх.
So teach [us] to number our days, that we may acquire a wise heart.
Вони на руках понесуть тебе, аби ти часом не спіткнувся об камінь своєю ногою.
Return, Jehovah: how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
На гадюку і змію наступиш, — ти потопчеш лева й змія!
Satisfy us early with thy loving-kindness; that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Адже він на Мене покладав надію — і Я його визволю. Захищу його, бо він пізнав Моє Ім’я.
Make us glad according to the days [wherein] thou hast afflicted us, according to the years [wherein] we have seen evil.
Закличе він до Мене — і Я його вислухаю; Я з ним у недолі — визволю і прославлю його.
