I say of Jehovah, My refuge and my fortress; my God, I will confide in him.
То добре, щоб дякувати Господе́ві й виспі́вувати Йме́ння Твоє, о Всевишній,
Surely *he* shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the destructive pestilence.
вранці розповіда́ти про милість Твою, а ночами — про правду Твою —
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou find refuge: his truth is a shield and buckler.
на десятистру́нній й на а́рфі, на лю́тні та гу́слах,
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, for the arrow that flieth by day,
бо потішив мене Ти, о Господи, вчинком Своїм, — про діла́ Твоїх рук я співаю!
For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Які то вели́чні діла Твої, Господи, дуже глибокі думки́ Твої,
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee.
— нерозумна люди́на не знає, а недо́умок не зрозуміє того́!
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, and see the reward of the wicked.
Коли несправедливі ростуть, як трава, і цвітуть всі злочи́нці, то на те, щоб навіки були вони знищені, —
Because *thou* hast made Jehovah, my refuge, the Most High, thy dwelling-place,
а Ти, Господи, на висоті повік-віку!
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.
Бо ось вороги Твої, Господи, бо ось вороги Твої згинуть, розпоро́шаться всі беззако́нники!
For he shall give his angels charge concerning thee, to keep thee in all thy ways:
І Ти ро́га мого підні́с немов в одноро́жця, мене намастив Ти оливою свіжою.
They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
І дивилося око моє на зане́пад моїх ворогів, тих злочинців, що на мене встають, — почують про це мої уші!
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under foot.
Зацвіте́ справедливий, як па́льма, і ви́женеться, немов кедр на Лива́ні, —
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
посаджені в домі Господнім цвітуть на подві́р'ях нашого Бога,
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.
