The Benefits of Wisdom

My son, if thou receivest my words, and layest up my commandments with thee,

1

Сын мой, прими всё, что я говорю тебе, помни мои наставления.

2

so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom [and] thou apply thy heart to understanding;

Слушай мудрость и постарайся её понять.

3

yea, if thou criest after discernment [and] liftest up thy voice to understanding;

3

Ищи мудрость и взывай к пониманию.

4

if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hidden treasures:

4

Ищи мудрость, как серебро, ищи, как спрятанный клад.

5

then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, and find the knowledge of God.

Если будешь делать это, тогда научишься уважению к Господу и воистину узнаешь о Боге.

6

For Jehovah giveth wisdom; out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.

Господь даёт мудрость, знания и разум исходят из Его уст.

7

He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright; [he] is a shield to them that walk in integrity;

Он помогает добрым и честным людям.

8

guarding the paths of just judgment and keeping the way of his godly ones.

Он охраняет тех, кто справедлив к другим, Он бережёт Своих святых людей.

9

Then shalt thou understand righteousness and judgment and equity: every good path.

Господь даст тебе Свою мудрость, и ты поймёшь добрые и праведные дела.

10

When wisdom entereth into thy heart and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul,

Мудрость поселится в сердце твоём, и душа твоя будет счастлива знанием.

11

discretion shall keep thee, understanding shall preserve thee:

11

Мудрость и понимание тебя охранят.

12

To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the man that speaketh froward things;

12

Мудрость и понимание тебя отведут от неверных путей, по которым идут злые люди. Злы они, и зло всё, что они говорят.

13

[from those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

13

Они отказались от доброты и живут во грехе,

14

who rejoice to do evil, [and] delight in the frowardness of evil;

14

они счастливы, творя недоброе, и наслаждаются злом.

15

whose paths are crooked, and who are perverted in their course:

15

Тем людям нельзя доверять, они лгут, но мудрость твоя и понимание твоё тебя охранят.

16

To deliver thee from the strange woman, from the stranger who flattereth with her words;

16

Чужеземка может быть сладкоречива и будет преследовать тебя ради греха.

17

who forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God;

17

Женщина эта вышла замуж, когда была молодой, но она оставила мужа. Она не исполнила своих супружеских обетов, данных перед Богом.

18

-- for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead;

18

Если ты по слабости войдёшь в её дом, ты сделаешь первый шаг к разрушению. Если ты будешь следовать за ней, она приведёт тебя к могиле.

19

none that go unto her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:

19

Она сама, как могила, и если человек приходит к ней, он уже никогда не вернётся назад, и жизнь его уже не будет прежней.

20

that thou mayest walk in the way of the good, And keep the paths of the righteous.

20

Мудрость поможет тебе следовать примеру добрых людей, идти их путём.

21

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it;

21

Люди, живущие праведно, обретут свою землю, творящие добро останутся на ней.

22

but the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful shall be plucked up out of it.

22

Но злые потеряют землю, они будут изгнаны с той земли.
