The king's heart in the hand of Jehovah is [as] brooks of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

В руках у Господа цареве серце; як розтоки води, він їх, куди захоче, справляє.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; but Jehovah weigheth the hearts.
В очах у людини путь її здається шляхом правим, Господь же на вазї всяке серце важить.
To exercise justice and judgment is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.
Як хто чинить правду й правий суд, се подобаєсь Господу більше, нїж жертва.
Lofty eyes, and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin.
Дивитись на людей високом згорда оком і серцем надутим — се гріх.
The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty, only to want.
Гадки трудящого змагають до багацтва, а хто поквапний, терпить недостачу.
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting breath of them that seek death.

Безбожного душа бажає зла; не найде змилування в очах його навіть приятель його.
When the scorner is punished, the simple becometh wise; and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
Як карають зрадливого, то й неук зрозумнїє, а як розумного навчають, він приймає науку.
One that is righteous wisely considereth the house of the wicked: he overthroweth the wicked to [their] ruin.
Праведний назирає дом безбожного, як безбожні попадають в нещастє.
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also himself shall cry, and shall not be heard.
Хто чує крик і плач убогого байдужно, той сам кричати ме, й вислуханий не буде.
A gift in secret pacifieth anger; and a present in the bosom, vehement fury.
Гостинець, тайкома даний, гасить гнїв, і дар у пазуху — велику досаду.
It is joy to a righteous [man] to do what is right; but it is ruin for the workers of iniquity.
Правий суд — се радість праведному, а страх лиходїєві.
The man that wandereth out of the way of wisdom shall abide in the congregation of the dead.
Чоловік, що зійшов з путя розумного, між мертвими опиниться.
He that loveth mirth shall be a poor man; he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
Хто любить веселощі, той збіднїє, а хто вино й товщ — тому не збогатїти.
The wicked is a ransom for the righteous, and a treacherous [man] in the stead of the upright.
Викупом буває за праведного безбожний, й за правого — лукавий.
It is better to dwell in a desert land. than with a contentious and irritable woman.
В пустинї одиноко відраднїйще жити, нїж із сварливою жоною й сердитою.
There is costly store and oil in the dwelling of a wise [man]; but a foolish man swalloweth it up.
В господї мудрого — омаста й достатки, яких забажає, а дурний чоловік все те прогайнує.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
Хто справедливий і милосерний, знайде той життє, правду і повагу.
A wise [man] scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
Мудрий здобуває місто хоробрих, і валить твердинї, що на них вповали.
Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Хто стереже уста свої й язик свій, той од біди життє охороняє.
Proud, arrogant, scorner is his name who dealeth in proud wrath.
Надутий лиходїй — без'умом зовуть його — порпаєсь в попелї гординї.
The desire of the sluggard killeth him; for his hands refuse to work:
Жаданнє лїнивого вбє його, бо приложити рук не хоче нї до чого;
He coveteth greedily all the day long; but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Що дня його кортить їда, а праведний дає, не жалує нїчого.
The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more when they bring it with a wicked purpose!
Гидота Господу безбожників жертва, а надто, як її в лукавстві приносять.
A lying witness shall perish; and a man that heareth shall speak constantly.
Ложний сьвідок погибне, а чоловік, що говорить те, що знає, буде все говорити правду.
A wicked man hardeneth his face; but as for the upright, he establisheth his way.
Чоловік безбожний не має стиду в лицї свойму, людина ж праведна путя свого не скривить.
There is no wisdom, nor understanding, nor counsel against Jehovah.
Нема премудростї, нї розуму, нї ради в того, хто противен Господеві.
