Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, as a storm of hail [and] a destroying tempest; as a storm of mighty waters overflowing, shall he cast down to the earth with might.
Взгляни, у Создателя есть человек, сильный и смелый. Он налетит, как ливень с градом, как вихрь или наводнение, захлёстывающее страну. Он повергнет Самарию на землю.
The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet;

and the fading flower of his glorious adornment which is on the head of the fat valley shall be like an early fig before the summer: as soon as he that seeth it perceiveth it, scarcely is it in his hand, he swalloweth it down.

In that day will Jehovah of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the remnant of his people;

and for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
И судьям, управляющим Его народом, Господь даст мудрость, даст мужество сражающимся у городских ворот.
But these also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are they gone astray. The priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink; they are overpowered by wine, they are gone astray through strong drink; they have erred in vision, they have stumbled [in] judgment.
Но пьяны сейчас эти правители, священники и пророки пьяны от вина и пива, спотыкаются и падают. Пророки пьяны в своих снах, и судьи пьяны в суждениях.
For all tables are full of filthy vomit, so that there is no [more] place.
Все столы заблёваны, нигде нет чистого места.
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the report? Them that are weaned from the milk, withdrawn from the breasts?
Господь хочет научить людей, пытается заставить их понимать Его поучения, но неразумны люди, как малые дети, как младенцы, которых недавно отлучили от материнской груди.
For [it is] precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little. ...
И потому Господь говорит с ними, как с младенцами: "Сав-ласав, сав-ласав, кав-лакав, кав-лакав, зеер-шам, зеер-шам".
For with stammering lips and a strange tongue will he speak to this people;
Господь будет говорить с этим народом таким же лепетом и на чужом языке.
to whom he said, This is the rest: cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. But they would not hear.
Бог сказал: "Вот место отдохновения, вот покойное место, где отдохнут уставшие". Но и тогда люди не хотели слушать Его!
And the word of Jehovah was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little: that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
И слово Божье было для них, как детский лепет: "Сав-ласав, сав-ласав, кав-лакав, кав-лакав, зеер-шам, зеер-шам". Люди сделали, что им хотелось, упали и разбились, и их поймали и взяли в плен.
A Cornerstone in Zion
Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

Правители Иерусалима, слушайте весть Господа, но вы отказываетесь слушать.
For ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol have we made an agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.
Вы говорите: "Мы заключили договор со смертью, у нас союз с преисподней, поэтому мы не будем наказаны, наказание пройдёт мимо нас, оно нас не коснётся, ибо мы спрячемся за наши шутки и ложь".
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I lay for foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation: he that trusteth shall not make haste.
И потому Создатель, Господь Всемогущий, сказал: "Я на земле Сиона поставлю камень краеугольный, драгоценный и крепкий, на нём всё будет держаться, и не разочаруется доверившийся ему.
And I will appoint judgment for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.
Люди пользуются мерилом и отвесом, чтоб удостовериться, что стена прямая. Так и Я воспользуюсь добротой и справедливостью, чтобы показать, что правильно". Злые пытаются спрятаться за обман и ложь, но они будут наказаны. Наказание придёт, словно шторм, гроза и наводнение, и ваши укрытия будут разрушены.
And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, ye shall be trodden down by it.
Ваш союз со смертью будет уничтожен, договор с преисподней вам не поможет. Придёт наказующий и превратит вас в грязь, по которой Он ходит.
As it passeth through it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night; and it shall be terror only to understand the report.
Он придёт и схватит вас, и наказание ваше будет ужасным, оно придёт ранним утром и продлится до поздней ночи.
For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow when he would wrap himself in it.
И тогда вы поймёте притчу: человек спал на постели, которая была слишком коротка для него, и укрывался одеялом, слишком узким, чтобы завернуться в него. Столь же бесполезны и ваши договоры и союзы.
For Jehovah will rise up as on mount Perazim, he will be moved with anger as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and perform his act, his unwonted act.
И будет бороться Господь, как на горе Перациме, и будет разгневан, как в долине Гаваона, и сделает Своё необычайное дело Господь, завершит Свой чудный труд.
Now therefore be ye not scorners, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of hosts a consumption, and [one] determined, upon the whole land.
Не боритесь с этим, чтобы вас ещё крепче не связали ваши узы. Ибо услышанное мною определено, слова эти от Господа Всемогущего, Владыки всей земли, и всё будет по слову Его.
Listen and Hear God's Voice
Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.

Слушайте внимательно весть Мою.
Doth the ploughman plough all day to sow? Is he [all day] opening and breaking the clods of his land?
Всегда ли земледелец пашет своё поле? Всё ли время трудится на земле?
Doth he not, when he hath levelled the face thereof, cast abroad dill, and scatter cummin, and set the wheat in rows, and the barley in an appointed place, and the rye in its border?
Нет. Земледелец готовит землю, потом сеет различные зёрна, каждое своим способом: разбрасывает семена тмина, рассыпает семена укропа и рядами сеет пшеницу. Он сеет ячмень в подходящем месте, а полбу по краю поля.
His God doth instruct him in [his] judgment, he doth teach him.
Господь даёт нам урок, и урок этот показывает, как справедлив Он в наказании людей.
For the dill is not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart-wheel turned about upon the cummin; but dill is beaten out with a staff, and cummin with a rod.
Разве земледелец пользуется зубчатым катком, когда молотит укроп? Разве использует молотильное колесо, чтобы обмолотить тмин? Нет, он палками отделяет шелуху от зерна.
Bread [corn] is crushed, because he will not ever be threshing it; and if he drove the wheels of his cart and his horses [over it], he would not crush it.
Приготовляя хлеб, женщина месит тесто руками, но не всё время. Так и Господь — наказывает людей, грозя колесом молотильным, но полностью их не сминает и не даёт лошадям их затоптать.
