Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

Справедливістю цар буде царювати, і князі будуть царювати правом.
And a man shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the storm; as brooks of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land.
Кожний із них буде, немов сховок від вітру і немов захист у негоду немов потоки вод у сухій країні, мов тінь високої скали в землі безводній.
And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken;
Очі видющих не будуть заплющуватись, і вуха слухаючих будуть уважати.
and the heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
І серце легковажних науку зрозуміє, язик заїкуватих заговорить ясно й швидко.
The vile man shall be no more called noble, nor the churl said to be bountiful:
Безглуздого не будуть більше звати благородним, а про лукавого не скажуть, мовляв, він чесний.
for the vile man will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
Бо дурний про дурниці говорить, і серце його думає про лихо, щоб чинити беззаконства, щоб проти Господа лише неправдиво говорити, щоб видирати в голодного хліб з рота, спраглого напою позбавляти.
The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
Підступи хитрого нечесні; він усе про хитрощі міркує, щоб погубити бідного брехливим словом і вбогого, що захищає своє право.
But the noble deviseth noble things; and to noble things doth he stand.
А чесний думає про чесне, твердо стоїть при тім, що праве.
The Women of Jerusalem
Rise up, ye women that are at ease, hear my voice; ye careless daughters, give ear unto my speech.

Жінки безжурні, встаньте, слухайте голос мій! О дочки самопевні, нахиліть вухо до мого слова!
In a year and [some] days shall ye be troubled, ye careless women; for the vintage shall fail, the ingathering shall not come.
По році й по кількох днях тремтітимете, ви, самопевні! Бо вже не буде винозборів і жнив більш не буде.
Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones; strip you, and make you bare, and gird [sackcloth] on your loins!
Здвигніться, ви, безжурні! Трясіться, ви, самопевні! Скиньте одежу з себе, роздягніться, підпережіть вереттям крижі,
They shall smite on the breasts [in lamentation] for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vineyards.
б'ючи себе в груди за пишні ниви, за лозу плодючу,
Upon the land of my people shall come up thistles [and] briars, yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city.
за мого люду поле, де ростуть будяки з глодами, за всі доми щасливі та за веселе місто!
For the palace shall be deserted, the multitude of the city shall be forsaken; hill and watchtower shall be caves for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
Бо покинуть палац, ущухне в місті галас; Офел і Бахан стануть печерами навіки, радістю диких ослів, пасовиськом стад,
until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness become a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
поки не виллється на нас дух з вишніх; тоді пустиня обернеться в сад, а сад за ліс будуть уважати.
And judgment shall inhabit the wilderness, and righteousness dwell in the fruitful field.
Тоді в пустині буде жити право, а в саду родючім перебувати справедливість.
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance for ever.
І ділом справедливости мир буде, а плодом справедливости — спокій та безпека довічна.
And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.
Народ мій житиме в оселі миру, в житлах безпечних і в осідках спокійних.
And it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
Зрубають ліс, і місто буде вельми принижене.
