The Year of the Lord's Favor

The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me, because Jehovah hath anointed me to announce glad tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Дух Господа Бога на мені, бо Господь мене помазав. Він послав мене, щоб принести благу вість убогим, лікувати скрушених серцем, проголосити невольникам свободу, ув'язненим відкрити очі,

to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

проголосити рік Господнього благовоління, день відплати нашого Бога, потішити всіх засмучених,

to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, that beauty should be given unto them instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness: that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

звеселити засмучених Сіону, замість попелу дати їм вінець, єлей веселощів — замість жалобної одежі, хвалу замість пригніченого духу, — і зватимуть їх дубами справедливости, посадкою Господа на його славу.

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the places desolate from generation to generation.

І відбудують старі румовища, і піднімуть спустошення часів днедавніх, і міста зруйновані відновлять, румовища родів минулих.

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your ploughmen and your vinedressers.

Чужинці прийдуть і пастимуть ваших овець; сторонні будуть у вас хліборобами й виноградарями.

But as for you, ye shall be called priests of Jehovah; it shall be said of you: Ministers of our God. Ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and into their glory shall ye enter.

Ви ж будете зватися Господніми священиками; слугами Бога нашого вас будуть величати, їсти будете скарби народів, їхньою славою оздобитеся.

7

Instead of your shame [ye shall have] double; instead of confusion they shall celebrate with joy their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double; everlasting joy shall be unto them.

Через те, що сором їхній був подвійний і доля їхня — сплювки та ганьба, вони посядуть у своїй країні вдвоє, і радість вічна в них буде.

8

For I, Jehovah, love judgment, I hate robbery with wrong; and I will give their recompence in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Бо я, Господь, люблю право, ненавиджу здирство та злочинство. Я їм віддам правдиву плату, я укладу з ними союз вічний.

And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are a seed that Jehovah hath blessed.

Нащадки їхні будуть відомі посеред народів, між племенами — їхні потомки. І хто б їх не побачив, визнає, що вони рід, Господом благословенний.

10

I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with the priestly turban, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Я веселюся в Господі, душа моя радіє в моїм Бозі, бо він зодягнув мене в шати спасіння, окрив мене плащем справедливости, — немов той молодий, що себе вінцем прикрашає, неначе молода, що дорогоцінностями себе оздоблює.

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as a garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Бо як земля вирощує свої рослини і як город вирощує своє насіння, так Господь Бог виростить справедливість і славу перед усіма народами.
