Thou shalt not take thee a wife, and thou shalt not have sons nor daughters in this place.
"Ты не должен жениться, Иеремия, ты не должен иметь сыновей и дочерей в этой местности".
For thus saith Jehovah concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bear them, and concerning their fathers that beget them in this land:
Господь говорит эти слова о сыновьях и дочерях, которые рождены в Иудее. И вот что Господь говорит об отцах и матерях этих детей:
They shall die of painful deaths; they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried; they shall be as dung upon the face of the ground, and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine, and their carcases shall be food for the fowl of the heavens and for the beasts of the earth.
"Эти люди умрут страшной смертью. Никто не будет оплакивать их, никто их не похоронит. Тела их будут лежать на земле, как навоз. Они умрут от вражеского меча или от голода. Их тела станут пищей для птиц и диких зверей".
For thus saith Jehovah: Enter not into the house of wailing, neither go to lament or bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith Jehovah, the loving-kindness and the tender mercies.
Поэтому Господь говорит: "Не заходи, Иеремия, в дом, где отмечают поминки, не заходи туда, чтобы оплакивать мертвых или выразить скорбь свою. Не делай этого, потому что Я лишил их Моего благословения. Я не буду добр к этим людям Иудеи и не буду сочувствовать им". Так сказал Господь.
Both great and small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried; and none shall lament for them, or cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them.
"И знатные люди и малые умрут на земле Иудеи — никто не похоронит их и не оплачет, никто не станет терзаться, не острижётся и не сбреет себе волосы в знак скорби по ним.
Nor shall they break [bread] for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall they give them the cup of consolations to drink for their father or for their mother.
Никто не принесёт им пищи, никто не утешит этих людей, потерявших отцов или матерей, никто не предложит чаши, чтобы успокоить плачущих.
And thou shalt not go into the house of feasting, to sit with them, to eat and to drink.
Не ходи, Иеремия, и в дом, где веселье, не садись с ними есть и пить.
For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
Господь Всемогущий, Бог Израиля, так говорит: "Скоро Я прекращу шум веселья и голоса свадебного пиршества. Это случится ещё при твоей жизни".
And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt declare unto this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath Jehovah pronounced all this great evil against us? and what is our iniquity? and what is our sin which we have committed against Jehovah our God?
Иеремия, ты расскажешь об этом людям Иудеи, и они спросят: "Почему Господь уготовил нам этот ужас, что мы сделали плохого, какой грех совершили мы против Господа?"
then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith Jehovah, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
Ты должен так ответить, Иеремия: "Всё это с вами происходит потому, что предки ваши перестали следовать Богу и стали следовать и служить другим богам; они им поклонялись, а от Него отвернулись и перестали слушать законы Божьи.
and you, ye have done still worse than your fathers; and there ye are walking every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, not to hearken unto me:
Но вы грешили больше ваших предков; вы упрямы и делаете только то, что хотите, вы не подчиняетесь Мне.
and I will cast you forth out of this land, into a land that ye know not, ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night: because I will shew you no favour.
Я вас выброшу из страны, заставлю идти в другие земли, не знакомые ни вам, ни вашим предкам, и там можете служить иным богам сколько хотите. Я вам не помогу и милосердия вам не окажу".
God will Restore Israel
Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, that it shall no more be said, [As] Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

Люди дают обещания, говоря: "Жив Господь, Который вывел сынов Израиля из Египта", — но настаёт время, — говорит Господь, — когда люди не будут говорить этих слов,
but, [As] Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them. For I will bring them again into their land, which I gave unto their fathers.
а скажут: "Жив Господь, Который вывел людей Израиля из северных земель, оттуда, куда Он их послал". Почему так скажут они? Потому что Я верну народ Израиля на землю, которую дал их предкам.
Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith Jehovah, and they shall fish them; and afterwards will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them, from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
Скоро Я пошлю за рыбаками, чтобы пришли сюда, — сказал Господь, — и они выловят людей Иудеи, а после этого пошлю за охотниками, чтобы пришли сюда и охотились за народом Иудеи в горах, на каждом холме и в расщелинах скал.
For mine eyes are upon all their ways; they are not concealed from my face, neither is their iniquity hidden from before mine eyes.
Мне видно всё, что делают они. Они не могут скрыть от Меня ничего, и грехи их от Меня не скрыты.
But first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have profaned my land with the carcases of their detestable things, and with their abominations have they filled mine inheritance.
И Я воздам народам Иудеи за всё дурное, что сделали они, за каждый грех Я накажу их дважды и сделаю это потому, что они осквернили Мою землю своими ничтожными идолами, которых Я ненавижу, заполнив ими всю землю".
Jehovah, my strength and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of distress, unto thee shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and they shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited falsehood [and] vanity; and in these things there is no profit.
Господи, сила моя и защита, спасение моё во дни несчастий, к Тебе со всего мира народы придут и скажут: "У наших отцов были ложные боги, которым они поклонялись, но идолы эти им не помогли".
Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no-gods?
Могут ли люди сотворить себе богов? — Нет, они могут сделать статуи, но статуи эти — не боги.
