Warning to the Cities of Judah

In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying,

Эта весть пришла от Господа, когда Иоахим, сын Иосии, первый год царствовал в Иудее.

Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of Jehovah's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Jehovah's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them: diminish not a word.

Господь сказал: "Иеремия, встань во дворе храма Господнего и передай эту весть всем людям Иудеи, которые придут на поклонение. Скажи им всё, что Я тебе велю, и не забудь ни слова.

3

Peradventure they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do unto them because of the wickedness of their doings.

Может быть, они послушаются и подчинятся вести Моей. Может быть, они перестанут совершать зло, и тогда Я, может быть, изменю Своё решение наказать их за всё дурное, что они совершили.

And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken unto me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,

Ты скажешь так: "Я дал вам Мои заветы, вы должны подчиниться и следовать Моему учению.

to hearken unto the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent unto you, even rising early and sending [them], but ye have not hearkened,

Вы должны слушать то, что слуги Мои вам говорят. Пророки — Мои слуги. Я посылал к вам пророков, но вы не слушали их.

then will I make This house like Shiloh, And will make This city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

Если вы Мне не подчинитесь, Я сделаю с храмом Моим в Иерусалиме то же, что с Моим святым шатром в Силоме, и люди во всем мире будут вспоминать Иерусалим, когда будут просить несчастий другим городам"".

The Plot to Murder Jeremiah

And the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.

Священники, пророки и все люди слушали Иеремию, говорившего эти слова в храме Господнем.

And it came to pass when Jeremiah had ended speaking all that Jehovah had commanded [him] to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, Thou shalt certainly die.

Иеремия сказал всё, что повелел ему Господь. Затем священники, пророки и народ схватили Иеремию и сказали: "За то, что ты сказал, ты должен умереть.

9

Why hast thou prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.

Как мог ты проповедовать такое от имени Господа, как ты осмелился сказать, что храм этот будет уничтожен, как и в Силоме? Как осмелился ты сказать, что Иерусалим станет пустыней необитаемой?" Все эти люди окружили Иеремию в храме Господнем.

And the princes of Judah heard these things; and they went up from the king's house unto the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entry of the new gate of Jehovah.

Правители Иудеи услышали о случившемся. Они вышли из царского дворца и пошли к храму Господнему. Там они заняли свои места возле Новых ворот, ведущих в храм.

11

And the priests and the prophets spoke unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die, for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.

И сказали священники и пророки властителям и всему народу: "Иеремия должен быть убит: он плохо говорил о Иерусалиме, вы все слышали сказанное им".

12

And Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying, Jehovah sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.

Иеремия ответил: "Господь меня послал сказать так о храме и о городе этом. Всё, что слышали вы, — всё от Господа.

13

And now, amend your ways and your doings, and hearken to the voice of Jehovah your God; and Jehovah will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

13

Измените свои жизни, начните делать добро, подчинитесь Господу Богу вашему. Если вы так сделаете, Господь изменит Своё решение и не сделает ничего из того, что Он обещал.

14

But as for me, behold, I am in your hand; do unto me as seemeth good and right in your eyes:

14

Я же в ваших руках — делайте со мною то, что вам кажется справедливым.

15

only know for certain that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.

15

Но если убьёте меня, то убедитесь в одном: вы будете виноваты в убийстве невинного человека и сделаете этот город и всех, кто в нём живёт, виновными. Господь меня действительно послал к вам, и весть, которую вы слышали, действительно от Господа".

16

Jeremiah Spared from Death

And the princes and all the people said unto the priests and to the prophets, This man is not worthy to die; for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah our God.

Затем правители и все люди сказали священникам и пророкам: "Иеремия не должен быть убит. То, что он говорил, пришло от Господа, Бога нашего".

17

And there rose up certain of the elders of the land and spoke to all the congregation of the people, saying,

И несколько старейшин встали и заговорили с народом:

18

Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed [as] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

"Михей из города Морасфита был пророком во времена царствования Езекии. Михей говорил людям Иудеи: "Господь Всемогущий сказал — "Сион станет вспаханным полем, Иерусалим — грудой камней, а холм, где храм стоял, лесами порастёт"". Мих. 3:12

19

Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and supplicate Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil that he had pronounced against them? And we should be doing a great evil against our souls.

Езекий, царь Иудеи, не убил Михея, никто из народа Иудеи не убил Михея. Вы знаете, что Езекии почитал Господа и хотел Его ублажить. Господь сказал, что причинит зло Иудеи, но Езекии молился Господу, и Господь изменил Своё решение. Если мы нанесём вред Иеремии, тогда мы навлечём немало бед на наши головы, и сами будем виноваты в этом".

20

And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim: and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah;

В прошлом был ещё один человек, который проповедовал именем Господа. Звали его Урия, сын Шемаи, из города Кариафиарима. Урия тоже говорил против этого города и этой земли, как и Иеремия.

21

and Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, and the king sought to put him to death; but Urijah heard it, and he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.

21

Царь Иоаким, его воины и правители Иудеи услышали Урию и рассердились; царь хотел убить Урию, но Урия узнал об этом и убежал в Египет.

22

And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him, into Egypt;

22

Но царь Иоаким послал Елнафана, сына Ахбора, с людьми в Египет.

23

and they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king; and he slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the children of the people.

23

Они привели Урию из Египта к царю Иоакиму, который приказал убить Урию мечом, а тело его бросить на кладбище бедняков.

24

Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.

24

Но Ахикам, сын Сафана, знатный человек, заступился за Иеремию, не дал священникам и пророкам его убить.
