The Judgment on the Ammonites

Concerning the children of Ammon. Thus saith Jehovah: Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? Why is Malcam heir of Gad, and his people dwell in the cities thereof?

Господь говорит: "Аммониты, вы думаете, что люди Израиля не имеют детей, которые бы унаследовали землю после смерти отцов? Быть может, Малхом поэтому захватил землю семьи Гада?"

Therefore behold, days come, saith Jehovah, that I will cause the clamour of war to be heard in Rabbah of the children of Ammon; and it shall be a desolate heap; and her towns shall be burned with fire; and Israel shall possess them that possessed him, saith Jehovah.

Господь говорит: "Время наступит в Равве, в земле Аммона, когда все услышат звуки битвы. Равва в земле Аммона погибнет и станет холмом, развалинами покрытым. И города вокруг Раввы будут сожжены. Они заставили Израиль покинуть свои земли, но позже Израиль заставит их уйти".

Howl, Heshbon! for Ai is laid waste; cry, daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth, lament and run to and fro within the enclosures: for Malcam shall go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.

"Плачьте, люди Есевона: город Гай уничтожен. Женщины Раввы, плачьте, наденьте одежды скорби, для безопасности спрячьтесь в городе: враг идёт, враг полонил Малхома вместе с его священниками, вместе с его князьями.

Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys? Thy valley shall flow down, O backsliding daughter, that trusteth in her treasures, [saying,] Who shall come against me?

Вы хвалитесь вашей силой, но сами теряете её. Вы думаете, что ваши деньги могут вас спасти и что никто не думал на вас нападать?

Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord Jehovah of hosts, from all that are about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall assemble the fugitives.

Но Я принесу несчастия, — говорит Господь, Бог Всемогущий, — со всех окрестных сторон, и вы побежите, и никто вас вместе не соберёт.

And afterwards I will turn the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith Jehovah.

Народ аммонитов будет пленён, но придёт время, когда Я приведу аммонитов назад". Так говорит Господь.

The Judgment on Edom

Concerning Edom. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Is there no more wisdom in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom spent?

Эта весть об Едоме. Говорит Господь Всемогущий: "Разве больше в Фемане мудрости нет? Разве не стало способных дать добрый совет, разве мудрость они утратили?

8

Flee, turn back, dwell deep down, ye inhabitants of Dedan! For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I visit him.

Жители Дедана, бегите и прячьтесь, поскольку Я накажу Исава за злые его дела.

9

If grape-gatherers had come to thee, would they not have left a gleaning? If thieves by night, they would destroy only till they had enough.

Сборщики винограда урожай собирают, но они оставят на лозах несколько виноградин. Если воры приходят ночью, они не всё забирают.

But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, that he is unable to hide himself: his seed is wasted, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

Но Я у Исава всё заберу, Я найду все его тайники. Умрут все его дети, родственники и соседи.

Leave thine orphans, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

Осиротеют дети, и не на кого надеяться будет жёнам".

For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup shall assuredly drink; and thou indeed, shouldest thou be altogether unpunished? Thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink.

Вот что говорит Господь: "Некоторые не заслужили наказания, но и они страдают. Но ты, Едом, заслужил наказание и не избежишь его.

13

For I have sworn by myself, saith Jehovah, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

Господь говорит: всей Моей силой Я исполню это обещание: город Восор будет уничтожен и превратится в руины. Он станет людям примером, когда они будут просить о напасти на другие города. Люди будут его презирать, и все города вокруг Восора превратятся в вечные руины".

I have heard a rumour from Jehovah, and an ambassador is sent among the nations: -- Gather yourselves together, and come against her and rise up for the battle.

Я от Господа слышал весть, Господь послал к чужим народам вестника. Вот эта весть: "Собирайте ваши войска, будьте готовы к битве, поднимайтесь против Едома.

15

For behold, I have made thee small among the nations, despised among men.

15

Малым между народами, презренньем между людьми Сделаю тебя, Едом.

16

Thy terribleness, the pride of thy heart, hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill. Though thou shouldest make thy nest high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith Jehovah.

Ты, Едом, напугал другие народы и думал, что ты очень важен, но ты одурачил сам себя, твоя гордость тебя обманула. Едом, ты на холмах распростёрся, защищённый большими скалами. Но если бы были дома твои выше орлиных гнёзд, Я и оттуда низверг бы тебя". Так говорит Господь.

And Edom shall be an astonishment: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss, because of all the plagues thereof.

"И будет Едом уничтожен, будут люди потрясены, увидев разрушенные города, от удивления присвистнет любой.

18

As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, and their neighbour cities, saith Jehovah, no one shall dwell there, neither shall a son of man sojourn therein.

18

Будет Едом разрушен, как Содом и Гоморра, как города вокруг них — никто в них не будет жить.

19

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will make them suddenly run away from it; and who is a chosen [man] whom I shall appoint over her? For who is like me? and who will assign me a time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

Порою выходит лев из густых кустов на берегах Иордана и направляется на пастбища, где пасутся стада. Я, как тот лев, пойду в Едом и напугаю его людей. Я заставлю их бежать; никто из юных и смелых не остановит Меня. Нет подобного Мне. Никто не решится Мне противостоять. Ни один пастырь не устоит против Меня!

20

Therefore hear the counsel of Jehovah, which he hath taken against Edom, and his purposes which he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: The little ones of the flock shall certainly draw them away; he shall certainly make their habitation desolate for them.

20

Итак слушай, что Бог наметил сделать с людьми Едома, что Он решил сделать с жителями Фемана: враг из стада Едома самых малых утащит. Все пастбища ужаснутся тому, что случится.

21

The earth quaketh at the sound of their fall; there is a cry, the sound whereof is heard in the Red sea.

21

И земля сотрясётся от падения Едома. Плач будет слышен до самого Красного моря.

22

Behold, he shall come up, and fly as an eagle, and spread forth his wings against Bozrah; and at that day the heart of the mighty men of Edom shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

22

Господь будет подобен орлу, что кружит над добычей, Господь будет как орёл, простерший крылья над Восором. От страха воины Едома будут плакать, как плачут женщины при родах".

23

The Judgment on Damascus

Concerning Damascus. Hamath is put to shame, and Arpad; for they have heard evil tidings, they are melted away: there is distress on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

Эта весть о Дамаске: "Напуганы города Емаф и Арпад, услышав плохие новости, — нет им успокоения.

24

Damascus is grown feeble: she turneth herself to flee, and terror hath seized on her; trouble and sorrows have taken hold of her as of a woman in travail.

Дамаск ослабел, люди готовы обратиться в бегство, охваченные болью и муками, как женщина при родах.

25

How is not the town of praise forsaken, the city of my joy!

25

Почему не оставили люди Дамаск — этот счастливый город веселья?

26

Therefore shall her young men fall in her streets, and all the men of war be cut off in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts.

26

На площадях и улицах падут его юноши, в тот день погибнут все его воины". Так говорит Господь.

27

And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-Hadad.

"Я подожгу стены Дамаска, и обратятся в пепел укрепления Венадада".

28

The Judgment on Kedar and Hazor

Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote. Thus saith Jehovah: Arise, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.

Эта весть о роде Кидара и о правителях Асора, которых победил царь Вавилона Навуходоносор. Господь говорит: "Пойдите войною на род Кидара, уничтожьте людей Востока.

29

Their tents and their flocks shall they take; their curtains and all their vessels, and their camels, shall they carry away for themselves; and they shall cry unto them, Terror on every side!

29

Их шатры будут взяты, их богатство унесено, их враги заберут верблюдов. Будут люди кричать: "Вокруг нас творится ужас!"

30

Flee, wander very far, dwell deep down, ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith Jehovah; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.

30

Бегите скорее, люди Асора, найдите понадёжнее место для укрытия". Так говорит Господь. "Царь Навуходоносор придумал коварный план, чтобы вас победить.

31

Arise, get you up against the nation at ease, that dwelleth securely, saith Jehovah, which hath neither gates nor bars: they dwell alone.

Есть народ, живущий в безопасности, он беспечен, ни стен, ни ворот у него, никто рядом с ним не живёт. Господь говорит: "Нападите на этот народ.

32

And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil; and I will scatter to every wind them that have the corners [of their beard] cut off, and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith Jehovah.

32

Враг заберёт их верблюдов, большие стада их будут расхищены. Те люди стригут свои бороды. Я наведу отовсюду на них страшные беды"". Так говорит Господь.

33

And Hazor shall be a dwelling-place of jackals, a desolation for ever. No one shall dwell there, neither shall a son of man sojourn therein.

"Станет земля Асора прибежищем для шакалов, люди там жить не будут, и земля станет навечно пустыней".

34

The Judgment on Elam

The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

Во времена, когда царём Иудеи был Седекия, пророк Иеремия получил весть от Господа, весть эта была о людях Елама.

35

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

35

Господь говорит так: "Я лук Елама, его главную силу, переломлю очень скоро.

36

And upon Elam will I bring the four winds, from the four ends of the heavens, and I will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

36

Я на Елам направлю четыре ветра с четырёх сторон неба. Я отправлю людей Елама на четыре стороны света, где дуют четыре ветра. Пленники из Елама будут в каждой стране.

37

And I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life; and I will bring evil upon them, my fierce anger, saith Jehovah; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.

Я Елам на куски разломлю, на глазах у врагов. На глазах у всех, кто мечтает Елам сокрушить, Я его разобью. Я несчастья ужасные им принесу, Я покажу им Свой гнев". Так говорит Господь. "Я меч Свой пошлю всему Еламу, пока не истреблю всех до единого.

And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence king and princes, saith Jehovah.

38

Я покажу Еламу, что Мне всё подвластно, Я царя его уничтожу и властителей всех". Так говорит Господь.

39

But it shall come to pass at the end of the days, I will turn the captivity of Elam, saith Jehovah.

39

"Но в будущем Я им добро дарую". Так говорит Господь.
