Jeremiah's Message at the Temple Gate

The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

Это слова Господа, обращенные к Иеремии:

Stand in the gate of Jehovah's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear ye the word of Jehovah, all Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship Jehovah.

Встань, Иеремия, в воротах Господнего дома и проповедуй там эту весть: "Все вы, народ Иудеи, слушайте весть Господа, все, кто проходит через эти ворота для поклонения Богу, слушайте эту весть.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

Господь есть Бог народа Израиля. Измените вашу жизнь и делайте добрые дела. Если вы будете так поступать, Я позволю вам жить здесь.

Confide ye not in words of falsehood, saying, Jehovah's temple, Jehovah's temple, Jehovah's temple is this.

Не доверяйте лжи, которую слышите. Некоторые люди говорят: "Здесь храм Господа, здесь храм Господа, здесь храм Господа!"

But if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if ye really do justice between a man and his neighbour,

Если измените свою жизнь и будете делать добро, Я позволю вам жить здесь. Вы должны быть справедливыми друг к другу.

[if] ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed no innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt;

Вы не должны притеснять странников. Праведно обращайтесь со вдовами и сиротами. Не убивайте невинных, не следуйте чужим богам — они разрушат ваши жизни.

then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers from of old even for ever.

Если вы Мне подчинитесь, Я позволю вам жить в этой земле, которую Я дал вашим предкам, чтобы она принадлежала им навеки.

Behold, ye confide in words of falsehood that cannot profit.

Но вы доверяетесь лжи, которая не принесёт вам пользы.

What? steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not ...

Будете ли вы красть и убивать, будете ли прелюбодействовать, будете ли несправедливо осуждать других, будете ли поклоняться божеству Ваалу и следовать другим богам, которых не знаете?

then ye come and stand before me, in this house which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered, -- in order to do all these abominations!

Если вы совершите эти грехи, то сможете ли устоять передо Мной в доме, который зовётся именем Моим, думаете ли вы, что сможете стоять передо Мной и говорить: "Мы в безопасности". Думаете ли вы, что можете делать всё это?

Is this house, which is called by my name, a den of robbers in your eyes? Even I, behold, I have seen it, saith Jehovah.

Этот храм зовётся Моим именем. Разве он для вас не место, где прячутся разбойники? Я всё видел". Так говорит Господь.

For go now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it, for the wickedness of my people Israel.

"Идите в город Силом, народ Иудеи, где Я впервые поставил дом Моего имени. Народ Израиля тоже творил зло — идите и посмотрите, что Я сделал с Силомом за содеянное зло.

13

And now, because ye have done all these works, saith Jehovah, and I spoke unto you, rising up early and speaking, and ye heard not, and I called you, and ye answered not;

Вы, люди Израиля, творили зло, — говорит Господь. — Я много раз вас предупреждал, но вы отказывались слушать Меня. Я звал вас, но вы не отвечали.

14

I will even do unto the house which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh;

Поэтому Я уничтожу дом Моего имени в Иерусалиме. Я разрушу этот храм, как Я разрушил Силом. Этот дом Моего имени в Иерусалиме есть храм, в который вы верили. Я дал это место вам и вашим предкам.

and I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, all the seed of Ephraim.

Judah's Idolatry Persists

And thou, pray not for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, and make not intercession to me; for I will not hear thee.

16

Ты же, Иеремия, не молись за этих людей, не проси, чтобы Я им помог — Я не услышу твою молитву.

17

Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?

17

Я знаю, что ты видишь, что творят эти люди в городах Иудеи, ты видишь, что делают они на улицах Иерусалима.

18

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

Вот что делают люди Иудеи: дети собирают дрова, отцы разводят огонь, женщины делают тесто и пекут пироги для Царицы неба. Они совершают возлияния другим богам, чтобы разгневать Меня.

19

Is it I whom they provoke to anger? saith Jehovah; is it not themselves, to the shame of their own face?

Но они Мне не причиняют вреда, — говорит Господь. — Они сами себе вредят и навлекают на себя позор".

20

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place; upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

Поэтому Господь говорит: "Я изолью Мой гнев, Я накажу этих людей и животных. Я накажу деревья и поля, и всё, что растёт на земле, вспыхнет горячим пламенем, которое никто не сможет погасить".

21

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Add your burnt-offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh.

Господь, Всемогущий Бог Израиля, говорит так: "Идите и воздайте столько даров и жертв, сколько хотите, и сами ешьте мясо жертв.

22

For I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them concerning burnt-offerings and sacrifices, in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt;

Я вывел ваших предков из Египта, Я с ними говорил, но Я им не давал никаких заповедей о жертвах и о дарах.

23

but I commanded them this thing, saying, Hearken unto my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.

23

Я дал им только такую заповедь: "Будьте послушны Мне, и Я стану вашим Богом, а вы будете Моим народом. Делайте всё, что Я велю, и вам будет хорошо".

24

But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels, in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward and not forward.

24

Но ваши предки не послушали Меня, они не обращали внимания на Мои слова, упрямились и делали то, что хотели. Они не стали добрыми, они стали ещё злее, они шли назад, а не вперёд.

25

Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt, unto this day, have I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them;

С тех пор, как ваши предки вышли из Египта, до сего дня Я посылал слуг Моих, Моих пророков. Я посылал их к вам снова и снова.

but they have not hearkened unto me, nor inclined their ear; and they have hardened their neck: they have done worse than their fathers.

26

Но ваши предки не послушали Меня. Они в своём упрямстве не обращали на Меня внимания и приносили даже больше зла, чем их отцы.

27

And thou shalt speak all these words unto them, but they will not hearken unto thee; and thou shalt call unto them, but they will not answer thee.

Иеремия, обо всём этом ты скажешь людям Иудеи, но они тебя не послушают; ты позовёшь их, но они не отзовутся.

28

And thou shalt say unto them, This is the nation which hath not hearkened unto the voice of Jehovah their God, nor received correction; fidelity is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

Поэтому скажи им так: "Этот народ не слушает своего Господа Бога. Эти люди не слушают Его наставлений и не знают истинного учения"".

29

Cut off thy hair, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the heights; for Jehovah hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

"Иеремия, остриги себе волосы и выброси их, поднимись на Лысую гору и плачь, потому что Господь отказал людям этого поколения, Господь повернулся к ним спиной, и в гневе Он начнёт наказывать их всех.

30

The Valley of Slaughter

For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith Jehovah; they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.

Сделай так, потому что Я видел народ Иудеи, творящий зло. " Так говорит Господь. "Они поставили ненавистных идолов в храме Моём, они осквернили Мой дом!

31

And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded not, neither did it come up into my mind.

31

Люди Иудеи поставили высоты Тофета в долине Еннома, где они убивали собственных сыновей и дочерей, сжигая их, как жертвы. Я этого не повелевал, такого у меня и в помыслах не было.

32

Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, when it shall no more be said, Topheth, and Valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter; for they shall bury in Topheth, till there be no place.

Поэтому Я тебя предупреждаю: наступят дни, когда люди не будут больше называть это место Тофетом, или долиной Еннома, — они назовут это место Долиной Бойни, потому что они будут хоронить своих мёртвых до тех пор, пока не останется для них места.

33

And the carcases of this people shall be food for the fowl of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall scare [them] away.

33

И тела мёртвых будут лежать на земле и станут пищей для небесных птиц, и дикие звери будут поедать мёртвые тела, и не останется никого в живых, чтобы их отогнать.

34

And I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land shall become a waste.

Я положу конец радости и счастью в городах Иудеи, и никто не услышит голосов женихов и невест в Иудее и Иерусалиме, и станет эта земля пустыней".
