The Reproof of False Prophets
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying:
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying:
І було до мене Господнє слово, що промовляло:
Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say unto them that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Jehovah.
Людський сину, пророкуй проти пророків Ізраїля, і ти пророкуватимеш, і скажеш їм: Послухайте Господнє слово.
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
Так говорить Господь: Горе тим, що пророкують від свого серця, а видінь зовсім не бачать.
O Israel, thy prophets have been like foxes in desert places.
Твої пророки, Ізраїлю, як лисиці в пустелях.
Ye have not gone up into the breaches, nor made up the fence for the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in the day of Jehovah.
Не стали в скріпленні й зібрали стада проти дому Ізраїля, не встояли ті, що кажуть: У Господній день!
They have seen vanity and lying divination, that say, Jehovah saith! and Jehovah hath not sent them; and they make [them] to hope that the word will be fulfilled.
Ті, що бачать брехню, чародіють безумне, які кажуть: Говорить Господь, а Господь їх не послав, і почали ставити слово.
Have ye not seen a vain vision, and spoken a lying divination, when ye say, Jehovah saith; and I have not spoken?
Хіба не оманливе видіння ви побачили і марні чарування виказали?
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye speak vanity, and have seen lies, therefore behold, I am against you, saith the Lord Jehovah.
Через це Я сказав: Так говорить Господь: Тому що ваші слова брехливі, а ваші чародійства марні, через це ось Я проти вас, — говорить Господь, —
And my hand shall be against the prophets that see vanity and that divine lies: they shall not be in the council of my people, neither shall they be written in the register of the house of Israel, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.
і простягну Мою руку проти пророків, які бачать обман і виголошують марне. Вони не будуть у напоумленні Мого народу і не будуть записані в переписі дому Ізраїля, і не ввійдуть в ізраїльську землю. І пізнають, що Я — Господь.
Because, yea because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace! and there is no peace; and one buildeth up a wall, and lo, they daub it with untempered [mortar] --
Тому що вони звели Мій народ, кажучи: Мир, мир, і не було миру! І цей збудує стіну, і вони її помажуть, та вона впаде.
say unto them which daub it with untempered [mortar] that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing rain, and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall, and a stormy wind shall burst forth.
Скажи тим, що тинькують: Упаде, і буде затоплюючий дощ, і дам каміння для стріляння на їхні стики, і вони впадуть, і спустошливий вітер, і рознесе.
And lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing with which ye have daubed [it]?
І ось мур упав! Тож хіба не скажуть вам: Де є ваш тиньк, яким ви тинькували?
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will cause to burst forth a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing rain in mine anger, and hail-stones in fury for utter destruction.
Через це так говорить Господь: І нашлю нищівний вітер з люттю, і буде дощ, що потопить у Моєму гніві, і наведу каміння для метання в гніві на вигублення,
And I will break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered [mortar], and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered; and it shall fall, and ye shall be destroyed in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
і розіб’ю мур, який ви тинькували, — він упаде. І кину його на землю, і відкриється його основа, і впаде, і будете вигублені з картаннями. І пізнаєте, що Я — Господь.
And I will accomplish my fury upon the wall, and upon them that daub it with untempered [mortar], and will say unto you, The wall is no [more], neither they that daubed it,
І завершу Мій гнів на мурі й на тих, що його тинькують, — він упаде. І Я сказав вам: Немає муру, ані тих, що його тинькують,
the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see a vision of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord Jehovah.
пророків Ізраїля, які пророкують проти Єрусалима, і які бачать його мир, а миру немає, — говорить Господь.
False Women Prophets
And thou, son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy against them,
And thou, son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy against them,
І ти, людський сину, скріпи своє обличчя проти дочок твого народу, що пророкують від свого серця, і пророкуй проти них,
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the women that sew pillows for all wrists, and that make veils for the head [of persons] of every stature to catch souls! Will ye catch the souls of my people, and will ye save your own souls alive?
і скажеш: Так говорить Господь: Горе тим, що шиють подушки на всякий лікоть руки і роблять накриття на всяку голову всякого росту, щоби звести душі. Були розбещені душі Мого народу, а вони рятували власні душі.
And will ye profane me among my people for handfuls of barley and for morsels of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that listen to lying?
І обезчестили Мене перед Моїм народом задля пригорщі ячменю і задля скибок хліба, щоб убити душі, які не мали померти, і щоб спасти душі, які не мали жити, коли ви говорили народові, який слухав марні промови.
Wherefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against your pillows, that the souls which ye catch by their means may fly away; and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, the souls that ye catch, that they may fly away.
Через це так говорить Господь: Ось Я проти ваших подушок, на яких ви зводите там душі. Тож вирву їх з ваших рук і відішлю на розсіяння душі, які ви зводите, їхні душі.
And I will tear your veils and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
І розірву ваші накидки, і визволю Мій народ з ваших рук, і більше не будуть у ваших руках на зведення. І пізнаєте, що Я — Господь.
Because with falsehood ye have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and have strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, to save his life:
Тому що ви неправедно зводите серце праведного, а Я його не зводив, і чините, щоби скріпити руки беззаконного, зовсім не звернути його з поганої дороги і живити його,
