The Parable of the Lord's Sword
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
Слово Господа пришло ко мне снова. Господь сказал:
Son of man, set thy face against Jerusalem, and drop [words] against the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
"Сын человеческий, взгляни в сторону Иерусалима и скажи слово против его святых мест. Говори пророчества против земли Израиля.
and say to the land of Israel, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, and I will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
Скажи земле Израиля: "Господь говорит так: Я против вас, Я выну Мой меч из ножен, Я заберу у тебя всех добрых и злых людей.
Seeing that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh, from the south to the north;
Я отсеку их от тебя, выну Мой меч из ножен, и он коснётся всех людей от севера до юга.
and all flesh shall know that I Jehovah have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath: it shall not return any more.
И все люди узнают, что Я — Господь, и Я извлёк Мой меч из ножен, куда он не войдёт обратно, пока не завершит своё дело".
Sigh then, thou son of man; with breaking of the loins, and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.
Бог сказал мне: "Сын человека, стенай печально, как человек с разбитым сердцем, перед всеми людьми.
And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore dost thou sigh? that thou shalt say, Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall languish, and all knees shall melt into water: behold, it cometh; it is here, saith the Lord Jehovah.
Они спросят тебя: "Почему ты стонешь печально?" Ты должен ответить: "От печальной вести, что близится, каждое сердце будет таять от ужаса, все руки ослабнут, каждый дух иссякнет, колени задрожат, словно вода". Слушайте, печальная весть близится, всё это случится". Господь Всемогущий так сказал.
Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah: Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished.
"Сын человека, говори от Меня с людьми, скажи им: "Господь Всемогущий сказал: Послушай, меч уже остёр и начищен.
It is sharpened for sore slaughter, it is furbished that it may glitter. Shall we then make mirth, [saying,] The sceptre of my son contemneth all wood?
Заострён он был, чтоб убивать. И начищен был, чтобы сверкать как молния. Ты, сын Мой, отказался от наказанья деревянным жезлом.
And he hath given it to be furbished that it may be handled. The sword, -- it is sharpened, and it is furbished to give it into the hand of the slayer.
Уже начищен меч, уже готов для примененья. И можно дать его уже в карающую руку.
Cry and howl, son of man; for it shall be against my people, it shall be against all the princes of Israel: they are given up to the sword along with my people: smite therefore upon the thigh.
Плачь и стенай, сын человеческий, ибо меч этот будет против Моих людей и правителей Израиля. И они будут убиты мечем вместе с Моими людьми. Поэтому бей себя по бёдрам и печально стенай.
For the trial [is made]; and what if even the contemning sceptre shall be no [more]? saith the Lord Jehovah.
Это не просто испытание. Ты уклонился от наказания жезлом, что же ещё Мне использовать для наказания, кроме меча?" Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.
And thou, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; for [the strokes of] the sword shall be doubled the third time: it is the sword of the slain, the sword that hath slain the great one, which encompasseth them privily.
Бог сказал: "Сын человека, бей в ладони и говори с людьми от Меня: Позволь мечу упасть два раза, да, три раза. Тот меч для наказания людей, для поражения великого. Он их проткнёт.
In order that the heart may melt, and the stumbling-blocks be multiplied, I have set the threatening sword against all their gates: ah! it is made glittering, it is whetted for the slaughter.
От ужаса растают их сердца, и многие падут, меч многих убьёт у городских ворот. Да, он как молния блеснёт, он заострён был для убийства.
Gather up [strength], go to the right hand, turn thee, go to the left, whithersoever thy face is appointed.
Руби направо, руби налево. Меч, иди туда, куда остриё направлено твоё.
And I myself will smite my hands together, and I will satisfy my fury: I Jehovah have spoken [it].
Потом и Я в ладони хлопну. Я гнев Свой утолю. Господь, Я, это говорил".
And thou, son of man, set thee two ways, by which the sword of the king of Babylon may come -- out of one land shall they both come -- and make thee a signpost, make it at the head of the way to the city.
"Сын человеческий, вообрази две дороги, которыми меч царя Вавилона может придти в Израиль. Обе дороги должны идти из Вавилона. И нарисуй знак в самом начале городской дороги.
Appoint a way for the coming of the sword to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah at the fenced [city] of Jerusalem.
Выбери дорогу для меча. Одна дорога ведёт в Аммонитский город Равву, а другая ведёт в Иудею, к укреплённому Иерусалиму.
For the king of Babylon standeth at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh [his] arrows, he inquireth of the teraphim, he looketh in the liver.
Это говорит о том, что царь Вавилона выбирает путь для нападения. Он пришёл к месту, где дорога раздваивается, и прибегнул к гаданью, чтобы узнать будущее, — он тряс стрелами, он вопрошал домашних идолов, он гадал по печени убитого им зверя.
In his right hand is the lot of Jerusalem to appoint battering-rams, to open the mouth for bloodshed, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering-rams against the gates, to cast mounds, to build siege-towers.
И гаданье сказало, чтобы он шёл по правой дороге, ведущей в Иерусалим. Он хочет с помощью таранов разбить ворота. Он прикажет солдатам убивать, построит вал вокруг города и осадные башни.
And this shall be a false divination in their sight, for them that have sworn oaths; but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
Это гадание ничего не значит для людей Израиля, они остаются с клятвой своей, но Господь, помня их грех, даст пленить Израиль".
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye make your iniquity to be remembered in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
Господь Всемогущий говорит: "Вы сделали много гадкого, ваши грехи очевидны, вы заставили Меня помнить о вашей вине, поэтому враг вас поймает.
And thou, profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end,
И ты, злой правитель Израиля, будешь убит, день твоего наказания пришёл, здесь твой конец".
-- thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre and take off the crown; what is shall be no [more]. Exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.
Господь Всемогущий говорит: "Сними и тюрбан, и корону. Время изменить вещи. Высокие правители будут унижены, а униженные возвысятся.
I will overturn, overturn, overturn it! This also shall be no [more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [to him].
Я уничтожу этот город полностью, но это не случится, пока не станет царём праведный человек, и тогда Я отдам этот город царю Вавилона".
And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus speaketh the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and thou shalt say, A sword, a sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it furbished, that it may consume, that it may glitter:
"Сын человеческий, говори с людьми от Моего имени, скажи, что Господь Всемогущий говорит людям Аммона и их постыдному богу: "Посмотри, меч уже обнажён, он начищен уже, он готов убивать, он очищен, чтобы словно молния, сверкать.
whilst they see vanity for thee, whilst they divine a lie unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are slain, whose day is come at the time of the iniquity of the end.
Все виденья твои бесполезны, не помогут тебе гаданья, все они просто горстка лжи. Меч уже у горла злых людей, пробил час их последний. Кончится их зло".
Restore [it] to its sheath. I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy birth.
"Вложи меч (Вавилон) в ножны, Я буду судить тебя, Вавилон, там, где ты был сотворён, на земле твоего рожденья.
And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow upon thee the fire of my wrath, and give thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.
Я пролью на тебя Мой гнев. Он сожжёт тебя, как ветер горячий. Я отдам тебя людям жестоким, мастерам истязанья людей.
