The Parable of the Cooking Pot
And in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Слово Господа Всемогущего пришло ко мне в десятый день десятого месяца (декабря), на девятом году изгнания. Господь сказал:
Son of man, write thee the name of the day, of this selfsame day: on this selfsame day the king of Babylon draws near to Jerusalem.
"Сын человеческий, запиши сегодняшнее число и сегодняшнюю новость: "Армия царя Вавилонского окружила Иерусалим".
And propose a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Set on the pot, set [it] on, and also pour water into it.
И расскажи это семье, которая не хочет подчиняться (Израилю). Скажи им так: "Господь Всемогущий говорит: Поставь на огонь котёл, налей его полным воды.
Gather the pieces thereof into it, every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder; fill [it] with the choice bones:
Положи мяса в котёл, лучшие куски положи: лопатки и плечи, потом наполни котёл лучшими костями.
take the choice of the flock; and also [put] a pile of wood under it, for the bones; make it boil well, and let the bones of it seethe therein.
Лучших овец из стада возьми, сложи дрова под котлом и кипяти, чтобы все кости в котле разварились".
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it:
Господь говорит: "Будет горе Иерусалиму — городу убийц. Он похож на котёл, покрытый ржавыми пятнами, которые счистить нельзя. Этот котёл не чист, не ешь из него мясо и не давай священникам выбирать из него куски.
for her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust.
Иерусалим — котёл с ржавыми пятнами, ибо кровь убиенных на нём. Он Иерусалим положил её на камень, он не пролил на землю её, чтобы пыль не покрыла её.
That it might cause fury to come up to execute vengeance, I have set her blood upon the bare rock, that it should not be covered.
Я кровь на камнях оставил, чтобы её не скрыли, Я это сделал, чтобы вызвать гнев у людей, которые отомстили бы за кровь невинно убитых".
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.
Господь говорит: "Горе будет Иерусалиму — городу убийц. Много дров Я сложу для костра.
Heap on the wood, kindle the fire, boil thoroughly the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
Большой огонь разведи, вари это мясо, пока не станет оно готовым. Перемешай приправы, и кости пусть сгорят.
Then set it empty upon its coals, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, [and] that its rust may be consumed.
Когда же котёл опустеет, поставь на угли его, чтобы он так накалился, чтобы сошли все пятна ржавчины без следа.
She hath exhausted [her] labours, yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her: let her rust be in the fire.
Ржавчина не исчезнет, если не будет огня.
In thy filthiness is lewdness, for I have purged thee, and thou art not pure. Thou shalt no more be purged from thy filthiness, till I have satisfied my fury upon thee.
Ты против Меня грешил, себя запятнал — очистить хотел Я тебя и омыть, но не уходят пятна. Я больше не буду пытаться очистить тебя, пока Я на тебя горячий гнев Мой не истрачу.
I Jehovah have spoken [it]: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, nor will I repent. According to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.
Я, Господь, сказал, что придёт твоё наказанье, и Я сделаю, чтобы оно пришло. Я не отменю его, не пожалею тебя, Я накажу тебя за все твои прегрешенья". Так сказал Господь Всемогущий".
Ezekiel's Wife Dies
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
Слово Господа снова ко мне пришло. Господь сказал:
Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
"Сын человеческий, ты любишь жену свою, но Я собираюсь забрать её у тебя. Жена твоя скоро умрёт, но ты не должен показывать печали своей, не должен плакать долго. У тебя не должно быть слез на твоих глазах.
Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind thy turban upon thee, and put thy sandals upon thy feet, and cover not the beard, and eat not the bread of men.
Ты можешь тихо стонать, не плачь громко по своей жене, надень свои ежедневные одежды, надень тюрбан и обувь свою, не закрывай бороды в знак печали и не ешь поминальной еды".
-- And I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died. And I did in the morning as I was commanded.
На следующее утро я людям поведал о Господних словах. В тот вечер жена моя умерла. На другое утро я сделал всё, как мне велел Господь.
And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, which thou doest?
Люди сказали мне: "Что ты делаешь, как это понять?"
And I said to them, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
Я ответил: "Ко мне пришло слово Господа,
Say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and your soul's longing; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.
Он сказал мне: Говори с семьёю Израиля, скажи им так: "Я уничтожу храм — Святое место Моё. Он — гордость ваших песен, вы любите смотреть на него, вы его действительно любите, но Я его уничтожу, и дети ваши, которых вы оставили, будут в битве убиты.
And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover the beard, neither eat the bread of men;
Но вы поступите так же, как я, — бороды не закроете в знак скорби, не будете есть поминальной еды.
and your turbans shall be upon your heads, and your sandals upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall waste away in your iniquities and moan one toward another.
Вы наденете тюрбаны и обувь, вы не покажете скорби и не будете плакать, но будете сохнуть от ваших грехов и вздыхать друг перед другом.
Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you a sign; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.
Иезекииль — пример для вас, вы сделаете всё, что сделал он, и когда придёт наказанье, вы узнаете, что Я — Господь".
And thou, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereunto they lift up their soul, their sons and their daughters,
"Сын человеческий, Я отберу у людей Иерусалим — их крепость, их радость и славу, утеху их очей. Но Я отберу у них этот город и их детей отберу.
that in that day he that escapeth shall come unto thee, to cause [thine] ears to hear [it]?
Один из уцелевших к вам придёт с плохою новостью об Иерусалиме.
In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb. So shalt thou be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
В тот день вы обретёте способность говорить с тем вестником, вы не будете больше молчать и станете примером для них, и узнают они, что Я — Господь".
