The Valley of Dry Bones

The hand of Jehovah was upon me, and Jehovah carried me out in the Spirit, and set me down in the midst of a valley; and it was full of bones.

1

І на мені була Господня рука, і Господь вивів мене в дусі й поставив мене посеред рівнини, і вона була повна людських кісток.

2

And he caused me to pass by them round about; and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and behold, they were very dry.

І Він обвів мене довкола них довкруги, навколо, і ось дуже багато на поверхні рівнини, дуже сухі.

3

And he said unto me, Son of man, Shall these bones live? And I said, Lord Jehovah, thou knowest.

3

І Він сказав мені: Людський сину, чи ці кості оживуть? І я сказав: Господи, Ти це знаєш!

4

And he said unto me, Prophesy over these bones, and say unto them, Ye dry bones, hear the word of Jehovah.

4

І Він сказав мені: Пророкуй над цими кістками і скажеш їм: Сухі кості, послухайте Господнє слово.

5

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.

5

Так говорить Господь до цих костей: Ось Я на вас наводжу дух життя

6

And I will put sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

6

і дам вам сухожилля, і наведу на вас м’ясо, і розтягну на вас шкіру, і дам у вас Мій дух — і житимете. І пізнаєте, що Я — Господь.

7

And I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a rustling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.

І я пророкував так, як мені заповідано. І сталося, що коли я пророкував, і ось трясіння, і прийшли кості кожна до своєї відповідної.

8

And I looked, and behold, sinews and flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

І я побачив — ось на них росло сухожилля і тіло, а зверху на них з’являлася шкіра, та в них не було духу.

9

And he said unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

І Він сказав мені: Пророкуй про духа, пророкуй, людський сину, і скажи духові: Так говорить Господь: Прийди із чотирьох вітрів і вдихни в цих мерців, і хай оживуть!

10

And I prophesied as he had commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

10

І я пророкував так, як мені заповідано. І в них увійшов дух, і вони ожили, і стали на свої ноги — дуже великий збір.

11

The Vision Explained

And he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off!

11

І Господь заговорив до мене, кажучи: Людський сину, ці кості — це весь дім Ізраїля, і вони кажуть: Сухими стали наші кості, загинула наша надія, ми пропали.

12

Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, O my people, and bring you into the land of Israel.

Через це пророкуй і скажи: Так говорить Господь: Ось Я відкриваю ваші гробниці й виведу вас із ваших гробниць, і введу вас у землю Ізраїля,

13

And ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I have opened your graves, and have caused you to come up out of your graves, O my people.

13

і взнаєте, що Я — Господь, коли Я відкрию ваші гробниці, щоб Мені вивести Мій народ з гробниць.

14

And I will put my Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I will place you in your own land: and ye shall know that I Jehovah have spoken, and have done [it], saith Jehovah.

14

І дам у вас Мій дух, і оживете, і поставлю вас у вашій землі, і пізнаєте, що Я — Господь, сказав і зроблю, — говорить Господь.

15

One Nation with One King

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

І до мене було Господнє слово, що промовляло:

16

And thou, son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel, his companions. And take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.

16

Людський сину, візьми собі палицю і запиши на ній Юду та синів Ізраїля, тих, що пристають до нього. І візьми собі другу палицю, і на ній запишеш Йосифа, палиця Єфрема і всіх синів Ізраїля, що пристали до нього.

17

And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thy hand.

17

І з’єднаєш їх разом собі в одну палицю, щоб їх зв’язати, і будуть у твоїй руці.

18

And when the children of my people speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not declare unto us what thou meanest by these?

18

І буде, коли скажуть тобі сини твого народу: Чи не сповістиш нам, що це в тебе?

19

say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions, and will put them with this, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.

То скажеш їм: Так говорить Господь: Ось Я візьму плем’я Йосифа, що в руці Єфрема, і племена Ізраїля, що прилягають до нього, і дам їх до племені Юди, і будуть однією палицею в руці Юди,

20

And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thy hand before their eyes.

20

і будуть палиці, на яких ти написав на них, у твоїй руці перед ними,

21

And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, whither they are gone, and will gather them from every side, and bring them into their own land:

21

і скажеш їм: Так говорить Господь: Ось Я беру весь дім Ізраїля з-посеред народів, куди вони ввійшли туди, і зберу їх з усіх, що довкола них, і введу їх у землю Ізраїля.

22

and I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

22

І дам їх в один народ у Моїй землі й на горах Ізраїля, і в них буде один володар, і більше не будуть двома народами, і більше не розділяться на два царства,

23

And they shall not defile themselves any more with their idols, or with their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions; and I will save them out of all their dwelling-places wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

23

щоби більше не опоганилися своїми ідолами. І Я визволю їх від усіх їхніх беззаконь, тих, в яких згрішили, і очищу їх, і будуть Мені народом, і Я, Господь, буду їм за Бога.

24

And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: and they shall walk in mine ordinances, and keep my statutes, and do them.

24

І Мій раб Давид буде володарем посеред них, і буде для всіх один пастир. Бо вони ходитимуть у Моїх приписах і зберігатимуть Мої суди, і їх чинитимуть.

25

And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and David my servant shall be their prince for ever.

25

І поселяться на своїй землі, яку Я дав Моєму рабові Якову, там, де колись поселилися їхні батьки. І вони поселяться на ній, і Давид, Мій раб, буде їхнім володарем навіки.

26

And I will make a covenant of peace with them: it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for ever.

І Я дам їм завіт миру, — з ними буде вічний завіт. І Я поставлю посеред них навіки Мої святощі.

27

And my tabernacle shall be over them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

27

І Моє поселення буде серед них, і Я буду їм Богом, і вони будуть Моїм народом.

28

And the nations shall know that I Jehovah do hallow Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for ever.

28

І народи пізнають, що Я — Господь, що освячує їх, коли Мої святощі будуть посеред них навіки.
