Daniel's Faithfulness
And Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not pollute himself with the king's delicate food, nor with the wine which he drank; and he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not have to pollute himself.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. -
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Daniel’s Faithfulness
But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king’s food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. -

Daniel’s Resolve
But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself. -
But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.

Даниил положил в сердце своём не оскверняться яствами со стола царского и вином, какое пьёт царь, и потому просил начальника евнухов о том, чтобы не оскверняться ему.

Даниїл постановив у своєму серці не сквернитись царськими харчами з царського столу й вином, що пив цар, тим і просив старшого над скопцями, щоб дозволено йому було не сквернитись.

І поклав Даниїл собі на серце, що він не оскверни́ться ї́жею царя та питво́м, що той сам його пив, і просив від начальника е́внухів, щоб не оскверни́тися.

Но Даниил решил не осквернять себя царской едой и вином и просил у главы придворных разрешения не оскверняться ими.

І Даниїл постановив у своєму серці, щоб він не осквернився столом царя та вином його напоїв, тож просив начальника євнухів, щоб він не осквернився.
