Nebuchadnezzar Confesses God's Kingdom

Nebuchadnezzar the king unto all the peoples, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied unto you.

[От Царя Навуходоносора народам всех стран и наречий, живущим по всему миру: Мир вам! Хочу в радости сообщить вам о чудесах и замечательных вещах, которые самый великий Бог сделал со мной. Бог совершил удивительные чудеса! Бог совершил могущественные чудеса! Царство Божие — царство вечное, и правление Его — навечно, из поколения в поколение.] Я, Навуходоносор, находился в своём дворце, был счастлив и преуспевал.

It hath seemed good unto me to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God hath wrought toward me.

2

И видел я сон, который испугал меня. Я лежал на ложе своём и мысленно видел картины и видения, которые заставили меня содрогнуться.

3

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

Тогда я отдал приказ привести ко мне всех мудрецов Вавилона, чтобы они сказали мне, что означает мой сон.

Nebuchadnezzar's Dream of a Great Tree

I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in my house, and flourishing in my palace.

Когда пришли чародеи и халдеи, я рассказал им о моём сне, но люди эти не могли объяснить мне, что он означал.

I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

Наконец, пришёл ко мне Даниил (я дал ему имя Валтасар, чтобы почтить моего бога. В нём дух святых богов). Я рассказал Даниилу о своём сне.

And I made a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

Я сказал: "Валтасар, ты самый искусный из всех чародеев. Я знаю, что в тебе дух святых богов и нет такой тайны, которую ты не смог бы понять. Вот какой сон я видел. Скажи мне, что он означает.

Then came in the scribes, the magicians, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers; and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation of it.

Вот видения, явившиеся мне, когда я лежал на своём ложе: я видел очень высокое дерево, стоящее среди земли.

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and before him I told the dream:

Дерево это выросло большим и крепким, и вершиной своей касалось неба. Его можно было видеть отовсюду на земле.

9

O Belteshazzar, master of the scribes, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret is too hard for thee, tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, and the interpretation of it.

На дереве этом были красивые листья и много фруктов. Плодов на нём хватало для всех. Дикие звери находили приют под этим деревом, и птицы гнездились в его ветвях. Всякая плоть питалась с этого дерева.

Thus were the visions of my head upon my bed: I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.

И наблюдая всё это в видении на ложе моём, я увидел святого Ангела, сходящего с небес.

11

The tree grew, and was strong, and its height reached unto the heavens, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth.

11

Он сказал очень громко: "Срубите дерево, обрубите его ветви, оборвите его листья и разбросайте его плоды. Животные убегут из-под дерева, и птицы улетят прочь с его ветвей.

12

Its leaves were beautiful, and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all: the beasts of the field found shade under it, and the birds of the heavens dwelt in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.

Но корень его пусть останется в земле. Обвяжите его железным и бронзовым обручем и пусть он останется в поле; окружённый со всех сторон травой, он будет жить среди диких животных и полевых растений, а орошать его будет утренняя роса.

13

I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from the heavens;

И не будет он думать больше, как человек. У него будет ум животного. Семь времён (лет), пройдут, пока он будет таким".

14

he cried aloud, and said thus: Hew down the tree, and cut off its branches, shake off its leaves, and scatter its fruit; let the beasts get away from under it, and the birds from its branches.

Святой Ангел объявил это наказание, дабы все люди на земле знали, что Всемогущий Бог правит над царством людей и даёт его, кому желает, и выбирает смиренных людей править этими царствами!

15

Nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be bathed with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth.

Вот какой сон видел я, — царь Навуходоносор. А теперь, Валтасар, расскажи мне, что это означает. Никто из мудрецов в моём царстве не может растолковать для меня этот сон. Но ты, Валтасар, можешь растолковать этот сон, потому что в тебе дух святых богов".

16

Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

Тогда Даниил (которого также звали Валтасар) задумался и около часа пробыл в думах. Мысли смущали его. И сказал царь: "Валтасар (Даниил), пусть не смущает тебя этот сон и его значение". И Валтасар (Даниил) ответил царю: "Господин мой, твоим бы ненавистникам этот сон, и врагам твоим значение его.

This sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the decision by the word of the holy ones: that the living may know that the Most High ruleth over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Во сне ты видел дерево, которое выросло высоким и крепким, и вершина его касалась небес. Его видно было со всех концов земли.

18

This dream I, king Nebuchadnezzar, have seen; and thou, Belteshazzar, tell the interpretation, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation; but thou art able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

На нём были прекрасные листья, а плодов было так много, что хватало на пропитание для всех. Оно служило домом для диких животных, а в ветвях его гнездились птицы. Вот какое дерево видел ты.

Daniel Interprets the Second Dream

Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spoke and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, nor its interpretation, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and its interpretation to thine enemies!

Царь, ты — это дерево! Ты стал великим и могущественным. Ты, как высокое дерево, которое достигает небес, и власть твоя простирается до краёв земли.

20

The tree that thou sawest, which grew and was strong, whose height reached unto the heavens, and the sight of it to all the earth;

20

Царь, ты видел Святого Ангела, сходящего с небес. Он сказал: "Срубите дерево и уничтожьте его, только пень его с корнями оставьте в земле. Обвяжите его железным и бронзовым кольцом и оставьте в полевой траве, чтоб роса орошала его. Он будет жить, как дикое животное, и таким останется, пока не пройдёт семь времён (лет)".

whose leaves were beautiful, and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and in whose branches the birds of the heavens had their habitation:

А вот толкование этого сна, царь. Всемогущий Бог повелел, чтобы случилось всё это с господином моим, царём.

22

it is thou, O king, who art grown and become strong; for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto the heavens, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

22

Царь Навуходонор, тебя вынудят уйти от народа. Ты будешь жить среди диких животных и есть траву, как скот, и роса небесная будет орошать тебя. Пройдёт семь времён (лет), прежде чем познаешь ты этот урок. Ты познаешь, что Бог Всевышний правит над царством людей и Бог Всевышний даёт царства тому, кому захочет.

And whereas the king saw a watcher and a holy one coming down from the heavens, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be bathed with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him:

Повеление оставить корень дерева в земле означает вот что: царство твоё будет возвращено тебе, когда ты познаешь, что Всевышний Бог правит твоим царством.

24

this is the interpretation, O king, and it is the decree of the Most High, which cometh upon my lord the king:

24

Посему, царь, прими мой совет: совершай добрые дела, уйди от своих грехов и будь милостив к бедным людям, чтобы искупить свой грех. И тогда успех будет сопутствовать тебе".

25

They shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and thou shalt be bathed with the dew of heaven; and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the Most High ruleth over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

Всё это произошло с царём Навуходоносором.

26

And whereas it was commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree; thy kingdom shall remain unto thee, after that thou shalt know that the heavens do rule.

Спустя двенадцать месяцев после того, как царь Навуходоносор видел этот сон, он гулял на крыше своего дворца в Вавилоне.

27

Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

"Посмотрите на Вавилон! — сказал царь. — Я построил этот великий город. Это — мой дом! Я построил этот великий город силой своего могущества, чтобы показать моё величие!"

28

The Second Dream Fulfilled

All this came upon king Nebuchadnezzar.

Не успел он договорить эти слова, как с небес раздался голос, который сказал: "Царь Навуходоносор, вот что случится с тобой: твоя царская власть отнята у тебя!

At the end of twelve months he was walking upon the royal palace of Babylon:

29

Тебя отлучат от людей и будешь ты жить с дикими зверями. Ты будешь питаться травой, как вол. Пройдёт семь времён (лет), прежде чем познаешь ты свой урок. Тогда ты познаешь, что Бог Всевышний правит царством людей и даёт царства тому, кому захочет".

30

the king spoke and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?

30

Всё это исполнилось тотчас же. Навуходоносор был отлучён от людей и стал питаться травой, как вол. Его орошала роса, и волосы его выросли длинными, как перья орла, а ногти выросли, как когти птицы.

31

While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from the heavens: King Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken: The kingdom is departed from thee;

И вот, по окончании этого времени, я, Навуходоносор, взглянул на небо, и ко мне снова возвратился мой разум. И тогда я восхвалил Бога Всевышнего и прославил Того, Кто живёт вечно. Бог правит вечно! Царство Его — для всех поколений!

32

and they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field; they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the Most High ruleth over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

32

Все, живущие на земле люди, ничего не значат. По воле Своей Бог делает, что пожелает, как со властью небесной, так и с людьми на земле. Никто не может остановить Его могучую руку! Никто не может спросить Его: "Что делаешь Ты?"

33

The same hour was the word fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar; and he was driven from men, and ate grass as oxen; and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven, till his hair grew like eagles' [feathers], and his nails like birds' [claws].

В то время Бог вернул мне мой разум, великий почёт и царскую власть. Мои советники и царские сановники начали снова просить моего совета. Я снова стал царём, и величие моё стало ещё выше, чем раньше, а власть сильнее.

Nebuchadnezzar's Restoration

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto the heavens, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation.

И теперь я, Навуходоносор, превозношу, почитаю и величаю Царя Небесного. Все дела Его праведны, Он всегда справедлив и может сделать гордых людей смиренными!
