Ephraim's Iniquity

When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they practise falsehood; and the thief entereth in, [and] the troop of robbers assaileth without.

Я излечу Израиль! Тогда люди узнают, что Ефрем грешил. Люди узнают о лжи Самарии. Люди узнают о ворах, грабящих на улицах этого города.

And they say not in their hearts [that] I remember all their wickedness: now do their own doings encompass them; they are before my face.

Эти люди не верят, что Я запомню их преступления. Зло, причинённое ими, окружает их. Я ясно различаю их грехи.

They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

Их злые поступки доставляют удовольствие их царю. Своими обманами они ублажают правителей.

They all practise adultery, as an oven heated by the baker: he ceaseth from stirring [the fire] after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.

Люди так неверны. Они, как пекарь, который замешивает тесто, чтобы выпечь хлеб, и ставит его в растопленную печь. Он не разжигает её ещё больше, пока хлеб подходит. Но народ Израиля не таков, он всегда разжигает свой огонь. Даёт своему огню разгореться ещё больше.

In the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine: he stretched out his hand to scorners.

В день царя они раскаляют огонь и устраивают пьяные оргии. Их предводители напиваются до бесчувствия вином, а цари протягивают руку людям, которые смеются над Богом.

For they have applied their heart like an oven to their lying in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth like a flaming fire.

Люди вынашивают свои коварные планы, и сердца их пылают словно печи. Их ненависть теплится всю ночь, и утром она пылает, как огонь.

They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.

Они раскалены, как жаркие печи. Они низвергают своих правителей. Все их цари пали с тронов, и ни один из них не воззвал ко Мне о помощи".

Ephraim, he mixeth himself with the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

Ефрем смешался с народами. Он, как недопечённый хлеб.

Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth [it] not; yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, and he knoweth [it] not.

Чужестранцы разрушают его силу, а он не замечает. Седина покрыла его, а он не знает.

And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face; and they do not return to Jehovah their God, nor seek him for all this.

Гордость Ефрема свидетельствует против него. У людей было множество несчастий, но даже тогда они не вернулись к Господу, Богу своему. Люди не обратились к Нему за помощью.

And Ephraim is become like a silly dove without understanding: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.

И стал Ефрем, как глупый голубь, ничего не смыслящий. Люди его обращаются к Египту за помощью. Люди идут за помощью в Ассирию.

12

When they go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowl of the heavens; I will chastise them, according as their assembly hath heard.

Когда они пойдут туда за помощью, Я остановлю их. Я наброшу на них сеть свою, как на птиц небесных. Я накажу их за их договоры и соглашения.

13

Woe unto them! for they have wandered from me; destruction unto them! for they have transgressed against me. And I would redeem them; but they speak lies against me.

Горе им за то, что они покинули Меня. Они отказались повиноваться мне и за это будут низвергнуты и уничтожены. Я спасал этот народ, а они говорят обо Мне ложь.

14

And they cried not unto me in their heart, when they howled upon their beds; they assemble themselves for corn and new wine; they have turned aside from me.

Они никогда не взывали ко Мне сердцем своим. Да, они стенают на ложах своих и бичуют себя из-за хлеба и вина. Но в сердцах своих они отвернулись от Меня.

15

I have indeed trained, I have strengthened their arms, but they imagine mischief against me.

15

Я вразумлял их и укреплял их силы, но они замышляли зло против Меня.

16

They return, [but] not to the [Most] High: they are like a deceitful bow. Their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

16

Они обратились к ложным богам и предательству. Их предводители хвастались силой своей, но будут они убиты мечами. И тогда народ Египта посмеётся над ними.
