Punishments for Disobedience
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
І Госпо́дь промовляв до Мойсея, говорячи:
Thou shalt say also to the children of Israel, Every one of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel, that giveth of his seed unto Molech, shall certainly be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
„І скажеш до Ізраїлевих синів: Кожен чоловік із Ізраїлевих синів та з прихо́дька, що мешкає в Ізраїлі, який дасть із насіння свого Молохові, буде конче забитий, — наро́д кра́ю заки́дає його камінням.
And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, so as to make my sanctuary unclean, and to profane my holy name.
А Я зверну лице Своє проти того чоловіка, і ви́нищу його з-поміж наро́ду його, бо з насіння свого дав він Моло́хові, щоб занечи́стити святиню Мою, збезче́стити Моє святе Ймення.
And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from that man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, that they kill him not,
А якщо справді люди того краю сховають свої очі від того чоловіка, коли він дасть із насіння свого Молохові, щоб не забити його,
then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
то Я зверну́ Своє лице проти того чоловіка та проти роди́ни його, — і ви́нищу його й усіх, що блу́дять за ним, блу́дячи за Молохом, з-посеред наро́ду його.
And the soul that turneth unto necromancers And unto soothsayers, to go a whoring after them, I will set my face against that soul, And will cut him off from among his people.
А душа, що звертається до померлих ду́хів та до чарівників, щоб блуди́ти за ними, — то Я зверну Своє лице проти тієї душі, — і винищу того з-посеред наро́ду його.
Hallow yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am Jehovah your God.
І ви будете освячуватися, і будьте святі, бо Я — Господь, Бог ваш!
And ye shall observe my statutes, and do them: I am Jehovah who hallow you.
І ви будете держати постанови Мої, і будете виконувати їх. Я — Господь, що освячує вас!
Whatever man revileth his father and his mother shall certainly be put to death: he hath reviled his father and his mother; his blood is upon him.
Бо кожен чоловік, що прокляне́ свого батька чи матір свою, буде конче забитий, — батька свого чи матір свою він прокляв, кров його на ньому!
Punishments for Sexual Immorality
And a man that committeth adultery with a man's wife, who committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, -- the adulterer and the adulteress shall certainly be put to death.
And a man that committeth adultery with a man's wife, who committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, -- the adulterer and the adulteress shall certainly be put to death.
А кожен, хто буде чинити пере́люб із чиєю жінкою, хто буде чинити перелюб із жінкою свого ближнього, — буде конче забитий перелю́бник та перелю́бниця.
And a man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall certainly be put to death; their blood is upon them.
I А хто буде лежати із жінкою ба́тька свого, він відкрив наготу свого батька, — будуть конче забиті обо́є вони, кров їхня на них!
And if a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall certainly be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood is upon them.
А хто буде лежати з невісткою своєю, — будуть конче забиті обо́є вони, гидо́ту вчинили вони, кров їхня на них!
And if a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall certainly be put to death; their blood is upon them.
А хто лежа́тиме з чоловіком як із жінкою, — гидоту вчинили обоє вони, — будуть конче забиті, кров їхня на них!
And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is infamy: they shall burn him and them with fire, that there be no infamy among you.
А хто ві́зьме жінку й матір її, — гидо́та це, в огні спалять його та її, і не буде кровозмішання серед вас!
And if a man lie with a beast for copulation, he shall certainly be put to death; and ye shall kill the beast.
А хто парува́тиметься з скоти́ною, — буде конче забитий, і скоти́ну ту заб'єте.
And if a woman approach unto any beast to gender therewith, thou shalt kill the woman and the beast: they shall certainly be put to death; their blood is upon them.
А жінка, що набли́зиться до якої скотини, щоб лежати з нею, то заб'єш ту жінку та скотину ту, — будуть конче забиті вони, кров їхня на них!
And if a man take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness, that is a disgrace; and they shall be cut off before the eyes of the children of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
А хто візьме сестру свою, дочку батька свого або дочку матері своєї, і побачить наготу її, а вона побачить наготу його, — га́ньба це! І будуть вони знищені на оча́х синів їхнього наро́ду, — він наготу сестри своєї відкрив, він понесе провину свою!
And if a man shall lie with a woman in her infirmity, and uncover her nakedness, her flux doth he lay bare, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood; and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
А хто буде лежати із жінкою, ча́су хвороби місячним, і відкриє її наготу, — він джерело́ її обнажи́в, а вона відкрила джерело́ своєї крови, — то будуть вони обоє знищені з-посеред народу свого!
And the nakedness of thy mother's sister, and of thy father's sister shalt thou not uncover; for he hath laid naked his near relation: they shall bear their iniquity.
І не відкриєш наготи́ сестри матері своєї й сестри батька свого, бо однокровну свою обнажи́в би ти, — вони понесу́ть провину свою.
And if a man lie with his aunt, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: their sin shall they bear: they shall die childless.
А хто буде лежати з тіткою своєю, — він відкрив наготу́ дядька свого, гріх свій вони понесуть, — бездітні помруть!
And if a man take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness: they shall be childless.
А хто ві́зьме жінку брата свого, — це нечисть, він відкрив наготу брата свого, — бездітні будуть.
Keep All My Decrees
And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them, that the land whither I bring you to dwell therein vomit you not out.

І ви будете додержувати всі постанови Мої й усі уста́ви Мої, і будете виконувати їх, — і не ви́ригне вас земля та, куди Я впроваджаю вас, щоб сиділи ви в ній.
And ye shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for all these things have they done, and they became an abomination to me.
І не бу́дете ви ходити за звичаями люду, що Я виганяю перед вами, бо все те робили вони, — і Я їх обри́див.
And I have said unto you, Ye shall possess their land, and I will give it unto you for a possession; a land flowing with milk and honey: I am Jehovah your God, who have separated you from the peoples.
І сказав Я до вас: ви вспадкуєте їхню зе́млю, а Я дам її вам на спа́дщину її, землю, що плине молоком та медом. Я — Господь, Бог ваш, що відділив вас від тих наро́дів!
And ye shall make a separation between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean, and ye shall not make yourselves an abomination by beast, or by fowl, or by anything that creepeth on the ground which I have separated for you, declaring [it] as unclean.
І ви відділяйте між худобою чистою та нечистою, і між пта́ством нечистим та чистим, і не занечищуйте душ своїх худобою й птаством, і всім, що роїться на землі, що Я відділив для вас, як нечисте.
And ye shall be holy unto me; for I Jehovah am holy, and have separated you from the peoples to be mine.
І будьте для мене святі, бо святий Я, Господь. І Я відділю вас від тих наро́дів, щоб ви були Мої.
And if there be a man or a woman in whom is a spirit of Python or of divination, they shall certainly be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood is upon them.
А чоловік або жінка, коли будуть вони виклика́ти духа мерців або ворожити, — будуть конче забиті, камінням заки́дають їх, кров їхня на них!“
