The Blessings of Obedience

Ye shall make yourselves no idols, neither rear you up for yourselves carved image, or statue, nor shall ye set up a figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it; for I am Jehovah your God.

1

Не зробите собі божкі́в та ідола, і кам'яного стовпа́ не поставите собі, і ка́меня з фіґурами не покладете в вашім кра́ї, щоб кла́нятися перед ними. Бо Я — Господь, Бог ваш!

2

Ye shall observe my sabbaths, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.

2

Субі́т Моїх будете доде́ржувати, а святиню Мою будете шанувати. Я — Господь!

3

If ye walk in my statutes, and observe my commandments and do them,

3

Якщо будете ходити згідно з постановами Моїми, а за́повідей Моїх будете додержувати й будете виконувати їх,

4

then I will give your rain in the season thereof, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit;

4

то дам ваші дощі в їхнім часі, і земля дасть свій урожай, а польове́ дерево дасть плід свій.

5

and your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing-time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land securely.

І моло́чення досягне вам виноградобра́ння, а виноградобра́ння досягне сіяння, і ви будете їсти хліб свій доси́та, і будете сидіти безпечно в вашому кра́ї.

6

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will put away the evil beasts out of the land; and the sword shall not go through your land.

І дам мир у краю́, і ви будете лежати, і ніхто не вчинить, щоб ви тремтіли, — бо злу звірину́ винищу з землі, а меч не перейде через край ваш.

7

And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword;

7

І ви будете гнати ворогів своїх, а вони попа́дають перед вами від меча.

8

and five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; and your enemies shall fall beside you by the sword.

8

І п'ятеро з вас поженуть сотню, а сотня з вас пожене десять тисяч, — і попадають вороги ваші перед вами від меча.

9

And I will turn my face towards you and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

9

І оберну́сь Я до вас, і розплоджу́ вас, і розмно́жу вас, і виконаю Свого заповіта з вами.

10

And ye shall eat old store, and clear away the old because of the new.

10

І ви будете їсти старе-перестаріле, і повикидаєте старе перед нови́м.

11

And I will set my habitation among you; and my soul shall not abhor you;

11

І поставлю місце перебува́ння Свого серед вас, — і душа Моя не обри́дить вами.

12

and I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be to me a people.

12

І Я буду ходити серед вас, і буду вам Богом, а ви будете Мені наро́дом.

13

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you walk upright.

13

Я — Господь, Бог ваш, що вивів вас з єгипетського кра́ю, щоб ви не були їм рабами. І Я поламав зано́зи вашого ярма́, — і вивів вас із підне́сеною головою.

14

Punishments for Disobedience

But if ye hearken not unto me, and do not all these commandments,

14

А коли ви не будете слухня́ні Мені, і не вико́нуватиме всіх тих за́повідей,

15

and if ye shall despise my statutes, and if your soul shall abhor mine ordinances, so that ye do not all my commandments, that ye break my covenant,

15

і якщо постановами Моїми будете пого́рджувати, і якщо душа ваша бри́дитиметься зако́нами Моїми, щоб не виконувати всіх за́повідей Моїх, щоб ламати вам заповіта Мого, —

16

I also will do this unto you -- I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and fever, which shall cause the eyes to fail, and the soul to waste away; and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

то й Я зроблю́ вам оце: поставлю над вами пере́страх, сухоти й пропасницю, що винищують очі й обезсилюють душу. І ви надаремно сі́ятимете насіння своє, — бо поїдять його вороги ваші.

17

And I will set my face against you, that ye may be routed before your enemies; they that hate you shall have dominion over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

17

І зверну Я лице Своє на вас, — і ви будете вдарені перед своїми ворогами. І будуть панувати над вами нена́висники ваші, — і ви будете втікати, хоч ніхто вас не гнатиме.

18

And if for this ye hearken not unto me, I will punish you sevenfold more for your sins,

18

А якщо й при тому не будете слухняні Мені, то Я семикра́тно побільшу́ кару на вас за ваші гріхи́.

19

and I will break the arrogance of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as bronze,

19

І зломлю́ пиху́ вашої сили, і зроблю́ ваше небо як залізо, а землю вашу як мідь!

20

and your strength shall be spent in vain, and your land shall not yield its produce; and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit.

20

І надаремно буде виче́рпуватися ваша сила: земля ваша не дасть свого врожаю, а дерево на землі не дасть свого пло́ду.

21

And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring sevenfold more plagues upon you according to your sins.

21

А якщо й тоді пі́дете проти Мене, і не схочете бути слухня́ними Мені, то Я семикратно збільшу́ над вами удара Свого згідно з вашими гріхами.

22

And I will send the beasts of the field among you, that they may rob you of your children, and cut off your cattle, and make you few in number; and your streets shall be desolate.

22

І пошлю́ на вас пі́льну звірину, а вона винищить вам дітей, і вигубить вашу худобу, і зменшить кількість вашу, і попустошить ваші дороги.

23

And if ye will not be disciplined by me through these, but walk contrary unto me,

23

А якщо цими карами не бу́дете на́вчені, і будете ходити проти Ме́не,

24

then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will smite you, even I, sevenfold for your sins.

24

то й Я піду́ проти вас, і вда́рю вас і Я семикра́тно за ваші гріхи.

25

And I will bring a sword upon you that avengeth with the vengeance of the covenant, and ye shall be gathered together into your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

25

І приведу́ на вас меча, що помстить пімсту за заповіта, — і ви будете зі́брані до ваших міст, і Я пошлю морови́цю на вас, і ви будете ві́ддані в руку ворога.

26

When I break the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall deliver you the bread again by weight; and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

26

Коли Я знищу вам хліб, підпору вашу, то десять жіно́к будуть пекти хліб вам в одній печі́, і вернуть хліб ваш вагою, а ви будете їсти — і не наси́титеся.

27

And if for this ye hearken not to me, but walk contrary unto me,

27

А якщо й тим не станете слухня́ні Мені, і будете ходити проти Ме́не,

28

then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven-fold for your sins.

28

то й Я з лютістю піду́ проти вас, і також Я семикра́тно покараю вас за ваші гріхи, —

29

And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

29

і ви тіло своїх синів бу́дете їсти, і тіло дочок своїх бу́дете поїда́ти...

30

And I will lay waste your high places, and cut down your sun-pillars, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you.

30

І поруйную ваші висо́ти, і повитинаю ваші стовпи́ сонця, і поскладаю трупи ваші на трупах божків ваших, — і обри́дить душа Моя вас!

31

And I will lay waste your cities and desolate your sanctuaries; and I will not smell your sweet odours.

31

І вчиню́ міста ваші руїною, і поспусто́шую ваші святині, — і не прийму́ ваших пахощів любих.

32

And I will bring the land into desolation; that your enemies who dwell there in may be astonished at it.

32

І спусто́шу Я край той, — і будуть дивуватися з то́го ваші вороги, що мешкають у ньому.

33

And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out the sword after you; and your land shall be desolation, and your cities waste.

33

А вас порозпоро́шую поміж наро́дів, і вийму за вами меча, — і стане край ваш спусто́шенням, а міста́ ваші будуть руїною...

34

Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, when ye are in your enemies' land; then shall the land rest, and enjoy its sabbaths.

34

Тоді земля та надолу́жить собі за суботні роки по всі дні спусто́шення її. Коли будете в краї ваших ворогів, тоді ваша земля святкуватиме відпочинок, і надолу́жить собі за свої суботні роки.

35

All the days of the desolation it shall rest, [the days in] which it did not rest on your sabbaths, when ye dwelt therein.

35

По всі дні спусто́шення святкува́тиме вона відпочинок, чого не святкувала в суботні роки, коли ви сиділи на ній.

36

And as to those that remain of you -- I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, that the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth;

А щодо позосталих серед вас, то впрова́джу в їхні серця полохли́вість в края́х їхніх ворогів, — і буде їх гнати навіть шелест подму́хненого вітром листу, і будуть вони втікати, як утікають перед мече́м, та й попа́дають, хоч ніхто не женеться...

37

and they shall stumble one over another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth; and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

37

І будуть вони спотика́тися один об о́дного, ніби від меча́, хоч ніхто не женеться за ними. І ви не зможете стати проти ваших ворогів.

38

And ye shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

38

І погинете серед поганів, і пожере́ вас земля ваших ворогів.

39

And they that remain of you shall waste away through their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also through the iniquities of their fathers shall they waste away with them.

39

А позосталі серед вас помарніють у края́х ворогів ваших за гріх свій, а також за гріхи батьків своїх помарні́ють із ними.

40

God Remembers Those who Repent

And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, through their unfaithfulness wherein they were unfaithful to me, and also that they have walked contrary unto me,

40

І ви́знають вони гріх свій та гріх батькі́в своїх, що ними спроневі́рилися були Мені, а також, що ходили проти Ме́не.

41

so that I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,

41

Також і Я піду́ проти них, і впрова́джу їх до кра́ю ї́хніх ворогів. Якщо тоді впоко́риться їхнє необрізане серце, то тоді понесу́ть кару за свої гріхи.

42

I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

42

І Я згадаю заповіта Свого з Яковом, а також заповіта Свого з Ісаком, і також заповіта Свого з Авраамом згадаю, і згадаю той край.

43

For the land shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, when it is in desolation without them; and they shall accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they despised my judgments, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

43

А край той буде позбавлений їх, і надолу́жить собі свої суботні роки, опустілий від них, а вони понесуть кару за свої гріхи, а то для то́го, що зако́нами Моїми пого́рджували, а постанови Мої оги́дила була їхня душа.

44

And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not despise them, and will not abhor them, to make an end of them utterly, to break my covenant with them, for I am Jehovah their God.

44

А проте, коли вони пробува́ли в краю́ своїх ворогів, то Я не пого́рджував ними, і не збри́див їх, щоб винищити їх, щоб зламати заповіта Свого з ними. Бо Я — Господь, Бог їх!

45

But I will remember toward them the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, that I might be their God: I am Jehovah.

45

І Я пам'ятатиму їм заповіта з предками, що Я вивів їх з єгипетського кра́ю на оча́х поган, щоб бути їм Богом. Я — Господь!“

46

These are the statutes and ordinances and laws which Jehovah made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses.

Оце постанови, і уста́ви та зако́ни, що дав Госпо́дь між Собою та між Ізраїлевими синами на Сіна́йській горі через Мойсея.
