The Blessings of Obedience

Ye shall make yourselves no idols, neither rear you up for yourselves carved image, or statue, nor shall ye set up a figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it; for I am Jehovah your God.

"Не делайте себе идолов. Не устанавливайте в своей стране статуи или мемориалы для поклонения. Ибо Я Господь, Бог ваш!

Ye shall observe my sabbaths, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.

Помните Мои особые дни отдыха и почитайте Мою святыню. Я Господь!

If ye walk in my statutes, and observe my commandments and do them,

Помните Мои законы и исполняйте заповеди!

then I will give your rain in the season thereof, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit;

Я пошлю вам дожди в нужное время, земля даст урожаи, а деревья в полях дадут плоды.

and your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing-time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land securely.

Вы будете молотить зерно до самого сбора винограда, а сбор винограда будет продолжаться до времени сева. Тогда у вас будет вдоволь еды, и вы будете спокойно жить на своей земле.

And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will put away the evil beasts out of the land; and the sword shall not go through your land.

Я пошлю мир вашей стране. Вы будете спокойно ложиться спать, и никто не придёт, чтобы запугать вас. Я изгоню из вашей страны лютых зверей, и армии не пройдут по вашей земле.

And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword;

Вы будете преследовать своих врагов и победите их. Вы убьёте их своим мечом.

and five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; and your enemies shall fall beside you by the sword.

Пятеро из вас будут преследовать сто, а сто из вас будут преследовать десять тысяч. Вы разобьёте своих врагов и убьёте их своим мечом.

And I will turn my face towards you and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

А затем Я обращусь к вам и дам вам много детей. Я сдержу Своё соглашение с вами.

And ye shall eat old store, and clear away the old because of the new.

10

У вас будет достаточно урожая, чтобы прокормить вас больше года. Вы соберёте новый урожай и должны будете выбросить старый, чтобы освободить место для нового!

And I will set my habitation among you; and my soul shall not abhor you;

Я также поставлю среди вас Свой святой шатёр. Я не отвернусь от вас!

and I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be to me a people.

12

Я буду ходить среди вас и буду вашим Богом, а вы будете Моим народом.

13

I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you walk upright.

13

Я Господь, Бог ваш. Вы были рабами в Египте, но Я вывел вас из Египта. Вы низко согнулись под тяжёлым ярмом рабства, но Я сокрушил путы на ваших плечах и снова повёл вас с высоко поднятой головой!"

14

Punishments for Disobedience

But if ye hearken not unto me, and do not all these commandments,

"Но если вы не будете слушаться Меня и не будете исполнять все Мои заповеди, то с вами произойдут несчастья.

15

and if ye shall despise my statutes, and if your soul shall abhor mine ordinances, so that ye do not all my commandments, that ye break my covenant,

15

Если вы откажетесь исполнять Мои законы и заветы, значит вы нарушили Моё соглашение.

16

I also will do this unto you -- I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and fever, which shall cause the eyes to fail, and the soul to waste away; and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

И Я пошлю на вас ужас: Я пошлю на вас болезни и горячку, которые ослепят вам глаза и унесут жизнь. Не будет вам удачи, когда будете сеять семена, и враги ваши съедят ваш урожай!

17

And I will set my face against you, that ye may be routed before your enemies; they that hate you shall have dominion over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

17

Я буду против вас, и вас победят враги. Эти враги ненавидят вас и будут господствовать над вами, и вы побежите, когда никто вас не преследует.

18

And if for this ye hearken not unto me, I will punish you sevenfold more for your sins,

18

И после всего этого, если вы всё ещё не будете подчиняться Мне, Я увеличу наказание за грехи ваши в семь раз.

19

and I will break the arrogance of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as bronze,

19

Я разрушу великие города, которыми вы гордитесь. Небеса не дадут вам дождя, а земля не родит урожая.

20

and your strength shall be spent in vain, and your land shall not yield its produce; and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit.

20

Вы будете много трудиться, но это вам не поможет. Ваша земля не даст урожая, а деревья не дадут плодов своих.

21

And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring sevenfold more plagues upon you according to your sins.

21

Если же вы и тогда будете против Меня и откажетесь повиноваться Мне, Я прибавлю вам ударов всемеро! Чем больше вы станете грешить, тем сильнее будете наказаны!

22

And I will send the beasts of the field among you, that they may rob you of your children, and cut off your cattle, and make you few in number; and your streets shall be desolate.

22

Я пошлю на вас диких зверей, и они унесут ваших детей. Они истребят ваш скот и убьют много ваших людей. Люди будут бояться путешествовать, и дороги опустеют!

23

And if ye will not be disciplined by me through these, but walk contrary unto me,

23

Если и это вас ничему не научит, и вы пойдёте против Меня,

24

then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will smite you, even I, sevenfold for your sins.

24

тогда и Я обращусь против вас. Да, Я (Господь) накажу вас в семь раз тяжелее за грехи ваши.

25

And I will bring a sword upon you that avengeth with the vengeance of the covenant, and ye shall be gathered together into your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

25

Вы нарушите Моё соглашение, и Я накажу вас. Я приведу против вас армии, и вы укроетесь в своих городах. Но Я распространю среди вас болезни, и недруги ваши вас победят.

26

When I break the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall deliver you the bread again by weight; and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

Я дам вам часть зерна, оставшегося в этом городе, но пищи будет очень мало. Десять женщин будут печь хлеб ваш в одной печи и будут отмерять каждый кусочек хлеба. Вы будете есть, но не насытитесь!

27

And if for this ye hearken not to me, but walk contrary unto me,

Если же вы и тогда откажетесь слушать Меня и пойдёте против Меня,

28

then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven-fold for your sins.

28

то Я воистину явлю вам Свой гнев! Да, Я (Господь) накажу вас в семь раз тяжелее за грехи ваши!

29

And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

29

Вы будете так голодать, что станете есть тела своих сыновей и дочерей.

30

And I will lay waste your high places, and cut down your sun-pillars, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you.

30

Я разрушу ваши высоты. Я порублю ваши алтари для благовоний. Я брошу трупы ваши на обломки ваших идолов. Вы опротивите Мне.

31

And I will lay waste your cities and desolate your sanctuaries; and I will not smell your sweet odours.

31

Я разрушу ваши города и опустошу ваши святыни. И не буду вдыхать благоухания ваших приношений.

32

And I will bring the land into desolation; that your enemies who dwell there in may be astonished at it.

32

Я опустошу вашу землю, так что изумятся враги ваши, поселившиеся на ней.

33

And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out the sword after you; and your land shall be desolation, and your cities waste.

33

Я разбросаю вас среди других народов. Я обнажу Свой меч и уничтожу вас. Ваша земля опустеет, и ваши города будут разрушены.

34

Then shall the land enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, when ye are in your enemies' land; then shall the land rest, and enjoy its sabbaths.

Вы будете в стране ваших врагов, а ваша страна опустеет. Тогда земля ваша получит, наконец, покой. Земля насладится этим покоем.

35

All the days of the desolation it shall rest, [the days in] which it did not rest on your sabbaths, when ye dwelt therein.

35

Завет говорит, что земля должна покоиться каждые семь лет. В то время пока земля пуста, она будет отдыхать, как не могла отдыхать тогда, когда вы на ней жили.

36

And as to those that remain of you -- I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, that the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth;

Уцелевшие потеряют храбрость в стране своих врагов. Они будут всего бояться и будут бежать, как лист, гонимый ветром, как будто кто гонится за ними с мечом. И падут они, когда никто не преследует!

37

and they shall stumble one over another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth; and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

37

Они будут бежать, как будто кто гонится за ними с мечом, и будут спотыкаться друг о друга, когда за ними никто не гонится. И не будет у вас силы противостоять вашим врагам.

38

And ye shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

38

Вы потеряетесь среди других народов и исчезните в стране своих врагов.

39

And they that remain of you shall waste away through their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also through the iniquities of their fathers shall they waste away with them.

39

А уцелевшие погибнут в своих грехах в странах своих врагов. Они погибнут в грехах своих, как погибли их предки".

40

God Remembers Those who Repent

And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, through their unfaithfulness wherein they were unfaithful to me, and also that they have walked contrary unto me,

40

"И, может быть, тогда люди признают свои грехи и грехи своих предков, признают, что обратились против Меня и что против Меня грешили.

41

so that I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,

41

Может быть, они признают, что Я обратился против них и привёл их в страну врагов. Люди эти будут Мне, как чужие. И тогда они покорятся и признают наказание за свои грехи.

42

I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

И Я вспомню Своё соглашение с Иаковом. Я вспомню Своё соглашение с Исааком, и Своё соглашение с Авраамом, и вспомню эту землю.

43

For the land shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, when it is in desolation without them; and they shall accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they despised my judgments, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

43

Земля эта опустеет и будет наслаждаться отдыхом. Уцелевшие люди примут наказание за свои грехи. Они узнают, что были наказаны, потому что ненавидели Мои законы и отказывались исполнять Мои заветы.

44

And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not despise them, and will not abhor them, to make an end of them utterly, to break my covenant with them, for I am Jehovah their God.

44

Они действительно грешили. Но если придут они ко Мне за помощью, Я не отвернусь от них. Я выслушаю их, даже если они будут в стране своих врагов. Я полностью их не уничтожу и не нарушу Своё соглашение с ними. Ибо Я Господь, их Бог!

45

But I will remember toward them the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, that I might be their God: I am Jehovah.

Для них Я вспомню соглашение с их предками. Я вывел их предков из земли Египетской, чтобы быть их Богом, другие народы всё это видели. Я Господь!"

46

These are the statutes and ordinances and laws which Jehovah made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses.

Вот законы, постановления и поучения, которые Господь дал народу Израиля. Эти законы — соглашение между Господом и народом Израиля. Господь дал эти законы Моисею на горе Синай, а Моисей передал их народу.
