Jehovah, I heard the report of thee, [and] I feared. Jehovah, revive thy work in the midst of the years, In the midst of the years make [it] known: In wrath remember mercy!
Господь, услышал Я весть о славе Твоей. Я поражён великими делами, которые Ты творил в прошлом, Господи! Теперь Я молю, чтоб Ты творил великие дела и в наше время. Дай деяниям этим случиться в дни нашей жизни. Но во гневе вспомни и прояви к нам милость. Селах.
God came from Teman, And the holy one from mount Paran. Selah. his glory covereth the heavens, And the earth is full of his praise.
Бог идёт из Фемана. Святый идёт от горы Фаран. Селах. Величие Господа покрыло небеса! Славою Его наполнилась земля!
And [his] brightness was as the light; Rays [came forth] from his hand; And there was the hiding of his power.
И от руки Его исходят лучи света. Она, как яркий свет. В руке Его скрыта такая сила.
Before him went the pestilence, And a burning flame went forth at his feet.
Впереди Него шли болезни, а по стопам Его шло разрушение.
He stood, and measured the earth; He beheld, and discomfited the nations; And the eternal mountains were scattered, The everlasting hills gave way: His ways are everlasting.
Господь стоял и судил землю. И под Его взглядом в страхе затрепетали народы всех стран. Обрушились вековые горы и осели древние холмы. Извечны пути Господа!
I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; The curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.
Я видел, что в беде города Эфиопские. Дома земли Мадиамской дрожали от страха.
Was Jehovah wrathful with the rivers? Was thine anger against the rivers? Was thy rage against the sea, That thou didst ride upon thy horses, Thy chariots of salvation?
Господи, разве гневался Ты на реки? Разве гневался Ты на потоки? Разве гневался Ты на море, когда скакали Твои кони и победоносные колесницы?
Thy bow was made naked, The rods [of discipline] sworn according to [thy] word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.
И даже тогда Ты показал радугу — доказательство Твоего соглашения с людьми земли. Селах. Ты рассёк землю реками.
The mountains saw thee, they were in travail: Torrents of waters passed by; The deep uttered its voice, Lifted up its hands on high.
Увидев Тебя, сотрясались вершины. Воды отступили от суши; вода морская взревела, ибо потеряла она власть над землёй.
The sun [and] moon stood still in their habitation, At the light of thine arrows which shot forth, -- At the shining of thy glittering spear.
Луна и солнце потеряли свой блеск, перестали светить, видя яркие вспышки молний Твоих. Эти молнии были подобны копьям и стрелам, летящим в пространстве.
Thou didst march through the land in indignation, Thou didst thresh the nations in anger.
Во гневе проходил Ты по земле, и негодуя, Ты карал народы.
Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, For the salvation of thine anointed; Thou didst smite off the head from the house of the wicked, Laying bare the foundation even to the neck. Selah.
Пришёл Ты, чтобы спасти, народ Твой. Пришёл, чтобы вести к победе Тобою избранного царя. Ты убил главу каждой бесчестной семьи, от самых малых до самых великих в стране. Селах.
Thou didst strike through with his own spears the head of his leaders: They came out as a whirlwind to scatter me, Whose exulting was as to devour the afflicted secretly.
Посохом Моисея Ты остановил солдат врага, которые, грозе подобно, пришли сражаться против нас. Они думали, что нас победить так же легко, как тайно бедняка ограбить.
Thou didst walk through the sea with thy horses, The heap of great waters.
Коней Своих Ты провёл через море, от них всколыхнулись великие воды.
I heard, and my belly trembled; My lips quivered at the voice; Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in my place, That I might rest in the day of distress, When their invader shall come up against the people.
Всё моё тело сотряслось, когда я услышал рассказ. И громко я засвистел. Ослабли кости мои и я стоял, содрогаясь. Но терпеливо я буду ждать день разрушения, когда враг нагрянет на народ.
Habakkuk Rejoices
For though the fig-tree shall not blossom, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labour of the olive-tree shall fail, And the fields shall yield no food; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls:

Хотя инжир может не вырасти на фиговых деревьях, и виноград не созреть на лозе, хотя оливы могут не принести плодов, и поля не дать урожая, хотя может не остаться в загоне овец, и не быть скота в стойлах,
Yet I will rejoice in Jehovah, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
я всё же буду радоваться в Господе и ликовать о Спасителе моём.
Jehovah, the Lord, is my strength, And he maketh my feet like hinds' [feet], And he will make me to walk upon my high places. To the chief Musician. On my stringed instruments.
Господь Всемогущий даёт мне силу. Он помогает мне бежать, как быстроногому оленю. Он на высоты бережно меня возводит. Начальнику хора. На струнных инструментах.
