In the seventh [month], on the one and twentieth [day] of the month, came the word of Jehovah by the prophet Haggai, saying,

Сьомого місяця, двадцятого й першого дня місяця було слово Господнє через пророка Огія таке:
Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
„Скажи но до Зорова́веля, сина Шалтіїлового, намісника Юдиного, і до Ісуса, сина Єгосадакового, великого священика, та до решти наро́ду, говорячи.
Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? and how do ye see it now? Is it not as nothing in your eyes?
Хто серед вас позостався, що бачив цей дім у першій його славі? А яким ви бачите його тепер? Чи ж не є він супроти того, як ніщо́ в ваших оча́х?
But now be strong, Zerubbabel, saith Jehovah; and be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith Jehovah, and work: for I am with you, saith Jehovah of hosts.
А тепер будь му́жній, Зорова́велю, говорить Госпо́дь, і зміцнися, Ісусе, сину Єгосадаків, священику великий, і зміцнися, ввесь наро́де землі, говорить Госпо́дь, і робіть, бо Я з вами, говорить Господь Савао́т.
The word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, and my Spirit, remain among you: fear ye not.
Сло́ва, якими Я склав з вами заповіта, коли ви вихо́дили з Єгипту, а дух Мій пробува́є серед вас, не бійтеся!
For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry [land];
Бо так промовляє Господь Савао́т: Ще раз, — а станеться це незаба́ром, — і Я затрясу́ небо та землю, і море та суході́л!
and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts.
І затрясу́ всіма́ наро́дами, і при́йдуть кошто́вності всіх наро́дів, і напо́вню цей дім славою, говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т.
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Jehovah of hosts.
Моє срі́бло й Моє золото, говорить Господь Саваот.
The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts.
Більша буде слава цього останнього дому від першого, говорить Господь Саваот, і на цьому місці Я дам мир, говорить Госпо́дь Саваот“.
Blessings for a Defiled People
On the four and twentieth [day] of the ninth [month], in the second year of Darius, came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,

Двадцятого й четвертого дня, дев'ятого місяця, другого року Да́рія було́ слово Господнє через пророка Огі́я таке:
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Ask now the priests [concerning] the law, saying,
„Так говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т: Запитай но священиків про Зако́на, гово́рячи:
If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any food -- shall it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
Ось несе хтось освячене м'ясо в полі́ своєї оде́жі, і доторкне́ться поло́ю своєю до хліба, чи до потра́ви, чи до вина, чи до оливи, чи до якої пожи́ви, — чи стане те освя́ченим? І священики відповіли́ та й сказали: „Ні!“
And Haggai said, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, is it become unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
Тоді Огі́й сказав: Якщо б нечистий через мертвого доторкну́вся до всього цього, чи стане воно нечистим? І відповіли священики та й сказали: „Стане нечистим!“
Then answered Haggai and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith Jehovah, and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
І відповів Огій та й сказав: „Отакий наро́д цей, і такий цей люд перед Моїм лицем, — говорить Госпо́дь, — і такий усякий чин їхніх рук, і що вони складають там, — нечисте воно!
And now, I pray you, consider from this day and onward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of Jehovah,
А тепер зверніть но своє серце на час від цього дня й далі, ще по́ки не був покла́дений камінь до каменя в Господньому храмі.
-- before those [days] were, when one came to a heap of twenty [measures], there were but ten; when one came to the vat to draw out fifty press-measures, there were but twenty.
Відко́ли то було, що прихо́див бувало до копи́ці набирати двадцять мір, а було тільки десять, прихо́див до чави́ла набрати п'ятдесят мір, а було двадцять.
I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; and ye [turned] not to me, saith Jehovah.
Бив Я вас посу́хою й зеленя́чкого та гра́дом, усі чи́ни ваших рук, та не кли́кали ви до Мене, говорить Госпо́дь.
Consider, I pray you, from this day and onward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth [month], from the day that the foundation of Jehovah's temple was laid, consider [it].
Зверніть ваші серця́ на час від цього дня й далі, від дня двадцятого й четвертого, дев'ятого місяця, від того дня, коли був засно́ваний Господній храм, зверніть ваше серце на це.
Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive-tree have not brought forth: from this day will I bless [you].
Чи є ще насіння в комо́рі? Бо ще виноград, і фіґове дерево, і дерево грана́тове, і дерево оли́вкове, — ніщо не прино́сило пло́ду. Від цього дня Я поблагословлю́ їх“.
Zerubbabel the Lord's Signet Ring
And the word of Jehovah came the second time unto Haggai on the four and twentieth [day] of the month, saying,

I було́ слово Господнє до Огі́я вдруге двадцятого й четвертого дня того ж місяця таке:
Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
Скажи Зорова́велю, намісникові Юдиному, говорячи: Я затрясу́ небо та землю,
and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride therein; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
і попереверта́ю тро́ни царств, і повигу́блюю силу поганських царств, і попереверта́ю колесни́ці та тих, хто їздить у них, і попа́дають коні та їхні верхівці́, один мечем о́дного.
In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, will I take thee, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, my servant, saith Jehovah, and will make thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, saith Jehovah of hosts.
Того дня, — говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т, — візьму́ Я тебе, Зорова́велю, сину Шеалтіїлів, Мій ра́бе, — говорить Господь, — і покладу́ тебе, немов ту печа́тку, бо Я тебе вибрав, говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т“.
