And the children of Israel said to him, We will go by the high way; and if we drink of thy water, I and my cattle, then I will pay for it: I will only, without anything else, go through on my feet.

So the children of Israel said to him, “We will go by the Highway, and if I or my livestock drink any of your water, then I will pay for it; let me only pass through on foot, nothing more.”

“We will go along the main road, and if we or our livestock drink any of your water, we will pay for it. We only want to pass through on foot — nothing else.” -

The Israelites answered, “We will stay on the main road. If our livestock drink your water, we will pay for it. Just let us pass through your country. That’s all we ask.”

И сказали ему сыны Израилевы: мы пойдём большою дорогою, и если будем пить твою воду, я и скот мой, то буду платить за неё; только ногами моими пройду, что ничего не стоит.

Сини ж Ізраїля повідали йому: “Ми битим шляхом підемо, а коли питимемо воду, чи то ми, а чи скотина наша, заплатимо тобі за неї; нічого іншого не хочемо, як тільки пішки пройти.”

І казали йому синове Ізрайлеві: Битим шляхом ми хочемо йти; а коли воду твою пити му я, чи скотина моя, так заплачу тобі за неї; тільки ногами моїми хочу перейти, більш нїчого. -
І сказали йому Ізраїлеві сини: „Ми пі́демо битою дорогою, а якщо бу́демо пити воду твою я та худоба моя, то я дам заплату за неї. Нічого більше, — тільки нехай перейду́ я своїми ногами!“

Израильтяне сказали:
— Мы пройдем главной дорогой, и если мы или наш скот будем пить воду из ваших колодцев, то мы за нее заплатим. Мы хотим лишь пройти пешком — ничего больше. -
А ізраїльські сини говорять йому: Під горою перейдемо; якщо ж твою воду питимемо, — ми і наша худоба, — то дамо тобі плату. Адже перейти попід горою — справа не варта уваги.
