Zelophehad's Daughters Marry

And the chief fathers of families of the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spoke before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:

Батьки-голови в родині синів Гілеада, сина Махіра, сина Манассії, з родини синів Йосифа, приступили й промовили перед Мойсеєм та перед князями, батьками-головами синів Ізраїля,

and they said, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel; and my lord was commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

кажучи: “Господь заповідав нашому панові пороздавати синам Ізраїля землю у спадщину за жеребом; і панові нашому було заповідано від Господа передати спадщину Целофхада, нашого брата, його дочкам.

Now if they be married to any of the sons of the [other] tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; and it shall be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

Коли ж вони вийдуть заміж за когонебудь із синів інших колін Ізраїля, їхня спадщина буде віднята від спадщини наших батьків і додана до спадщини того коліна, до якого вони пристануть, і тим робом, зменшиться спадщина, яка припала нам за жеребом.

And when the jubilee of the children of Israel shall come, then shall their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; and their inheritance shall be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

Та як у синів Ізраїля настане ювілей, то їхня спадщина приєднається до того коліна, до котрого вони пристануть, і батьківський приділ нашого коліна зменшиться їхньою спадщиною.”

And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of Jehovah, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.

Тоді Мойсей, за Господнім наказом, повелів синам Ізраїля таке: “Правду каже коліно синів Йосифа.

This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry whom they please; only they shall marry one of the tribe of their father,

Ось що заповідав Господь про дочок Целофхада: Нехай собі виходять заміж за того, хто їм довподоби, аби лише виходили за когонебудь з родини їхнього батьківського коліна

that no inheritance of the children of Israel pass from tribe to tribe; for every one of the children of Israel shall keep to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

та щоб ніяке спадкоємство синів Ізраїля не переходило від коліна до коліна, бо кожен із синів Ізраїля має залишитися при спадщині свого батьківського коліна.

8

And every daughter that possesseth an inheritance among the tribes of the children of Israel, shall be married to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may possess every one the inheritance of his fathers,

Отож кожна дочка, що успадкує батьківщину в якомусь коліні синів Ізраїля, повинна вийти заміж за когонебудь із родини свого батьківського коліна, щоб кожен із синів Ізраїля зберіг свою батьківщину,

9

and the inheritance shall not pass from one tribe to another tribe; for each of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep to his inheritance.

і щоб спадщина не переходила від одного коліна до другого, а щоб кожне коліно синів Ізраїля трималося свого спадкоємства.”

10

Even as Jehovah had commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad;

Як заповідав Господь Мойсеєві, так і вчинили дочки Целофхада.

11

and Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their uncles' sons.

І повиходили Махла, Тірца, Хогла, Мілка та Ноа, дочки Целофхада, заміж за синів своїх дядьків,

12

To those that were of the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph were they married; and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

повіддавалися за чоловіків з родин синів Манассії, сина Йосифа, і таким робом їхня спадщина залишилась при коліні їхньої батьківської родини.

13

These are the commandments and the ordinances which Jehovah commanded through Moses to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan of Jericho.

Ось такі заповіді й присуди, що їх дав Господь через Мойсея синам Ізраїля у степах моавських, над Йорданом, проти Єрихону.
