Zelophehad's Daughters Marry

And the chief fathers of families of the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spoke before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:

1

І приступили батьки голови з поколїння синів Гілеада, сина Макіри, сина Манассії, з роду синів Йосифових; і промовили вони перед Мойсейом і перед князями батьківськими синів Ізрайлевих,

and they said, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel; and my lord was commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

І казали вони: Господь заповідав добродїєві мому пороздавати землю синам Ізраїля в наслїддє по жеребу; і заповідано від Господа добродїєві мому, передати наслїддє Зелофхада, брата нашого, дочкам його.

Now if they be married to any of the sons of the [other] tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; and it shall be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

Коли ж пійдуть вони заміж за кого небудь із синів других поколїнь Ізраїля, так наслїддє їх віднїметься від наслїддя батьківського нашого і прилучиться до наслїддя того поколїння, що до його вони пристануть; сим робом віднїметься воно від наслїддя нашого паю.

And when the jubilee of the children of Israel shall come, then shall their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; and their inheritance shall be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

Та й як настане ювілейний рік у синів Ізрайлевих, то знов прилучиться наслїддє їх до наслїддя того поколїння, до котрого вони пристали; сим робом віднїметься наслїддє їх від наслїддя поколїння батьків наших.

And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of Jehovah, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.

І дав Мойсей повелїннє синам Ізрайлевим, по слову Господньому, таке: Правду каже поколїннє синів Йосифових.

This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry whom they please; only they shall marry one of the tribe of their father,

Се слово, що заповідав Господь про дочок Зелофхадових словами: Нехай виходять вони замуж за того, хто їм до вподоби; но мусять вони вийти за одного з роду поколїння батька свого,

7

that no inheritance of the children of Israel pass from tribe to tribe; for every one of the children of Israel shall keep to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

Щоб не переходило наслїддє синів Ізраїля від поколїння до поколїння; бо кожен із синів Ізраїля держатись мусить при наслїддї свого батьківського поколїння.

8

And every daughter that possesseth an inheritance among the tribes of the children of Israel, shall be married to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may possess every one the inheritance of his fathers,

І всяка дочка, в котрої єсть наслїддє з поколїння синів Ізраїля, мусить бути жінкою кому небудь із роду свого батьківського поколїння; щоб кожен зміж синів Ізраїля держав батьківське наслїддє своє,

9

and the inheritance shall not pass from one tribe to another tribe; for each of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep to his inheritance.

9

Та щоб не переходило наслїддє від одного поколїння до другого. Бо кожне поколїннє синів Ізрайлевих мусить держатись свого наслїддя.

10

Even as Jehovah had commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad;

10

Як заповідав Господь Мойсейові, так і вчинили дочки Зелофхадові.

11

and Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their uncles' sons.

11

І стали жінками синам дядків своїх Махля, Тирза, Хогля, Милка і Ноя, дочки Зелофхадові.

12

To those that were of the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph were they married; and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

Повіддавались вони за чоловіків з родин синів Манассеії, сина Йосифового. І так зосталось наслїддє їх при поколїнї батьківського роду їх.

13

These are the commandments and the ordinances which Jehovah commanded through Moses to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan of Jericho.

Се заповідї і присуди, що заповідав Господь, через Мойсея синам Ізраїля на Моабових рівнинах над Йорданом, проти Єрихону.
