The Lord of the Sabbath

At that time Jesus went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples were hungry, and began to pluck the ears and to eat.

В то время, в субботу, Иисус проходил через засеянные поля. Его ученики были голодны и начали срывать колосья и есть зерна.

But the Pharisees, seeing [it], said to him, Behold, thy disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on sabbath.

2

Но когда это увидели фарисеи, они сказали Ему:
— Смотри! Твои ученики делают то, что не разрешается делать в субботу.63

But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him?

Иисус ответил им:
— Разве вы не читали, что сделал Давид, когда он и его спутники проголодались?

How he entered into the house of God, and ate the shewbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests only?

Он вошел в дом Божий и ел священный хлеб,64 который нельзя было есть ни ему, ни его людям, но только священникам.65

Or have ye not read in the law that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

Или вы не читали в Законе, что в субботу священники трудятся в храме, нарушая святость этого дня, и при этом на них нет вины?

But I say unto you, that there is here what is greater than the temple.

But if ye had known what is: I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Если бы вы знали, что значит: «Милости хочу, а не жертвы»,66 то не обвиняли бы невиновных.

For the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath.

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

And, going away from thence, he came into their synagogue.

Уйдя оттуда, Иисус зашел в синагогу.

And behold, there was a man having his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath? that they might accuse him.

10

Там был человек с иссохшей рукой. Фарисеи искали повод обвинить Иисуса и поэтому спросили Его:
— Позволяет ли Закон исцелять в субботу?

11

But he said to them, What man shall there be of you who has one sheep, and if this fall into a pit on the sabbath, will not lay hold of it and raise [it] up?

Иисус сказал им:
— Если у кого-то из вас есть одна-единственная овца, и в субботу она упадет в яму, то разве он не вытащит ее оттуда?

12

How much better then is a man than a sheep! So that it is lawful to do well on the sabbath.

А ведь насколько человек дороже овцы! Стало быть, в субботу позволяется делать добро.

Then he says to the man, Stretch out thy hand. And he stretched [it] out, and it was restored sound as the other.

После этого Он сказал больному:
— Протяни руку.
Тот протянул, и его рука стала совершенно здоровой, как и другая.

But the Pharisees, having gone out, took counsel against him, how they might destroy him.

Фарисеи же, выйдя, стали совещаться о том, как им убить Иисуса.
Узнав об этом, Иисус ушел из тех мест.

God's Chosen Servant

But Jesus knowing [it], withdrew thence, and great crowds followed him; and he healed them all:

За Ним последовало много людей, и Он исцелил их всех.

and charged them strictly that they should not make him publicly known:

Но Иисус запретил им разглашать о том, кто Он.67

that that might be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying,

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, in whom my soul has found its delight. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall shew forth judgment to the nations.

18

«Вот Мой избранный Слуга!
Возлюбленный Мой,
и в Ком радость души Моей!
Я дам Ему Духа Моего,
и Он возвестит народам правосудие,

19

He shall not strive or cry out, nor shall any one hear his voice in the streets;

19

Он не будет ни спорить, ни кричать;
никто не услышит Его голоса на улицах.

20

a bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, until he bring forth judgment unto victory;

20

Тростника надломленного Он не переломит
и тлеющего фитиля не погасит,
пока не даст восторжествовать правосудию.

21

and on his name shall [the] nations hope.

21

На имя Его будут надеяться народы.»68

A House Divided

Then was brought to him one possessed by a demon, blind and dumb, and he healed him, so that the dumb [man] spake and saw.

Привели к Иисусу человека, одержимого демонами, который был к тому же слепым и немым. Иисус исцелил его, и он заговорил и стал видеть.

23

And all the crowds were amazed and said, Is this [man] the Son of David?

23

Все люди удивлялись и спрашивали друг друга:
— Может, это и есть Сын Давидов?

24

But the Pharisees, having heard [it], said, This [man] does not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub, prince of demons.

24

Когда же фарисеи услышали это, они сказали:
— Он изгоняет демонов не иначе как силой Веельзевула, повелителя демонов.

25

But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not subsist.

25

Зная, о чем они думают, Иисус сказал им:
— Любое царство, разделившееся на враждующие части, приходит в запустение, и никакой город или дом, разделенный враждой, не устоит.

26

And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom subsist?

26

И если сатана изгоняет сатану, значит, он враждует против самого себя. Как тогда устоит его царство?

27

And if *I* cast out demons by Beelzebub, your sons, by whom do they cast [them] out? For this reason *they* shall be your judges.

27

Если Я изгоняю демонов силой Веельзевула, то чьей силой изгоняют их ваши последователи?69 Так что они будут вам судьями.

28

But if *I* by [the] Spirit of God cast out demons, then indeed the kingdom of God is come upon you.

28

Но если Я изгоняю демонов Духом Божьим, то это значит, что Царство Божье пришло к вам.

29

Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong [man] and plunder his goods, unless first he bind the strong [man]? and then he will plunder his house.

Как может кто-нибудь войти в дом сильного человека и разграбить его добро, если сначала не свяжет его? Только тогда можно будет ограбить его дом.

30

He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathers not with me scatters.

The Unpardonable Sin

For this reason I say unto you, Every sin and injurious speaking shall be forgiven to men, but speaking injuriously of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.

31

Любой грех и любое кощунство будут прощены людям, но кощунство над Духом прощено не будет.

32

And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming [one].

32

Кто скажет что-либо против Сына Человеческого, тот будет прощен, но кто говорит против Святого Духа, тот не будет прощен ни в этом веке, ни в будущем.

33

A Tree Recognized by its Fruit

Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt. For from the fruit the tree is known.

Или признайте дерево хорошим и плод его хорошим, или признайте дерево плохим и плод его плохим, ведь дерево узнается по его плодам.

Offspring of vipers! how can ye speak good things, being wicked? For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Вы, змеиное отродье, как вы можете говорить доброе, если вы злы? Ведь что у человека на сердце, то и на языке.

35

The good man out of the good treasure brings forth good things; and the wicked man out of the wicked treasure brings forth wicked things.

Из хранилища добра добрый человек выносит доброе, а злой человек выносит злое из хранилища зла.

36

But I say unto you, that every idle word which men shall say, they shall render an account of it in judgment-day:

Но говорю вам, что в День Суда люди дадут отчет за каждое пустое слово, которое они сказали.

for by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

37

Ваши собственные слова послужат вам оправданием или осуждением!

The Sign of Jonah

Then answered him some of the scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher, we desire to see a sign from thee.

38

Затем фарисеи и учители Закона стали просить Иисуса:
— Учитель, мы хотим, чтобы Ты показал нам какое-нибудь знамение.

39

But he, answering, said to them, A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it save the sign of Jonas the prophet.

39

Иисус ответил:
— Злое и развратное поколение ищет знамения, но ему не будет дано никакого знамения, кроме знамения пророка Ионы.

40

For even as Jonas was in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, thus shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

40

И как Иона был три дня и три ночи в желудке огромной рыбы,70 так и Сын Человеческий будет в сердце земли три дня и три ночи.

41

Ninevites shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and behold, more than Jonas [is] here.

41

Жители Ниневии встанут в День Суда с людьми этого поколения и обвинят их, потому что они покаялись от проповеди Ионы.71 Сейчас же с вами Тот, Кто больше Ионы.

42

A queen of [the] south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, more than Solomon [is] here.

Царица Юга72 встанет в День Суда с людьми этого поколения и осудит их, потому что она пришла с другого конца света послушать мудрость Соломона. Сейчас же с вами Тот, Кто больше Соломона.

Return of an Unclean Spirit

But when the unclean spirit has gone out of the man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and does not find [it].

Когда нечистый дух выходит из человека, то он скитается по безводным местам, ища место для отдыха, но не находит его.

44

Then he says, I will return to my house whence I came out; and having come, he finds [it] unoccupied, swept, and adorned.

44

Тогда он говорит: «Возвращусь-ка я в дом, из которого вышел». Когда он возвращается, то находит дом незанятым, чисто выметенным и убранным.

45

Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits worse than himself, and entering in, they dwell there; and the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. Thus shall it be to this wicked generation also.

Тогда он идет, берет с собой семь других духов, еще более злых, чем он сам, и они приходят и поселяются там. И это для человека еще хуже того, что было вначале. Так будет и с этим злым поколением.

Jesus' Mother and Brothers

But while he was yet speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, seeking to speak to him.

Иисус еще говорил с народом, когда к дому подошли Его мать и братья. Они стояли снаружи, желая поговорить с Ним.

47

Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren are standing without, seeking to speak to thee.

47

Кто-то Ему сказал:
— Твоя мать и братья стоят снаружи, они хотят поговорить с Тобой.

48

But he answering said to him that spoke to him, Who is my mother, and who are my brethren?

48

Но Иисус ответил тому человеку:
— Кто Мне мать и кто Мне братья?

49

And, stretching out his hand to his disciples, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren;

49

И, показав рукой на Своих учеников, сказал:
— Вот Моя мать и Мои братья.

50

for whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in [the] heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

50

Потому что кто исполняет волю Моего Небесного Отца, тот Мне и брат, и сестра, и мать.
