The Transfiguration

And after six days Jesus takes with [him] Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart.

And he was transfigured before them. And his face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as the light;

И там, у них на глазах, Его облик изменился. Лицо Его засияло подобно солнцу, и одежды Его стали ослепительно белыми.

and lo, Moses and Elias appeared to them talking with him.

И внезапно явились им Моисей и Илия и стали беседовать с Ним.

And Peter answering said to Jesus, Lord, it is good we should be here. If thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles: for thee one, and for Moses one, and one for Elias.

И сказал Пётр Иисусу: "Господи, как хорошо, что мы здесь. Если хочешь, я поставлю здесь три шатра: один для Тебя, один для Моисея и один для Илии".

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying, *This* is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight: hear him.

И пока он это говорил, на них опустилось светлое облако, и оттуда раздался голос, говоривший: "Вот Сын Мой Возлюбленный, к Которому Я благоволю. Слушайте Его!"

And the disciples hearing [it] fell upon their faces, and were greatly terrified.

Услышав это, ученики так испугались, что пали на землю ниц.

And Jesus coming to [them] touched them, and said, Rise up, and be not terrified.

Тогда Иисус подошёл, коснулся их и сказал: "Не бойтесь, встаньте!"

And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus alone.

И когда они подняли глаза, то не увидели никого, кроме Иисуса.

And as they descended from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one, until the Son of man be risen up from among [the] dead.

Когда ученики спускались с горы, Иисус приказал им: "Никому не рассказывайте о том, что видели, пока Сын Человеческий не воскреснет из мёртвых!"

10

And [his] disciples demanded of him saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first have come?

10

Тогда ученики спросили Его: "Почему же законоучители говорят, что первым должен прийти Илия?"

And he answering said to them, Elias indeed comes first and will restore all things.

Иисус ответил им: "Известно, что Илия должен прийти и навести во всем порядок.

12

But I say unto you that Elias has already come, and they have not known him, but have done unto him whatever they would. Thus also the Son of man is about to suffer from them.

Но говорю вам, Илия уже приходил, но люди не узнали его и плохо обошлись с ним. Так же и Сын Человеческий пострадает от их рук".

Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the baptist.

И тогда они поняли, что Он говорит им про Иоанна Крестителя.

Jesus Heals a Boy with a Demon

And when they came to the crowd, a man came to him, falling on his knees before him, and saying,

Когда Он вернулся к народу, к Нему подошёл один человек, опустился перед Ним на колени

15

Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic, and suffers sorely; for often he falls into the fire and often into the water.

15

и сказал: "Господи, смилуйся над моим сыном! У него падучая, он ужасно мучается и часто падает в огонь и в воду.

16

And I brought him to thy disciples, and they were not able to heal him.

16

Я привёл его к Твоим ученикам, но они не могут его исцелить".

17

And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me.

17

И сказал Иисус в ответ: "О вы, неверные, идущие неверными путями! Сколько ещё придётся Мне оставаться с вами? Как долго ещё придётся Мне терпеть вас? Приведите его ко Мне!"

And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out from him, and the boy was healed from that hour.

Иисус приказал бесу выйти, и тот вышел из мальчика, и он исцелился в тот же миг.

19

Then the disciples, coming to Jesus apart, said [to him], Why were not *we* able to cast him out?

19

Ученики подошли к Иисусу, когда Он был один, и спросили: "Почему же мы не смогли изгнать нечистого?"

20

And he says to them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye shall say to this mountain, Be transported hence there, and it shall transport itself; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

Он сказал им: "Из-за того, что у вас слишком мало веры. Истину говорю вам: даже если бы ваша вера была не больше горчичного зерна, вы могли бы приказать горе этой: "Передвинься отсюда туда", и она передвинулась бы, и не было бы для вас ничего невозможного".

But this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting.

Jesus Again Predicts Death, Resurrection

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is about to be delivered up into [the] hands of men,

Когда они все вместе пришли в Галилею, Иисус сказал им: "Сына Человеческого выдадут людям,

and they shall kill him; and the third day he shall be raised up. And they were greatly grieved.

23

которые убьют Его, но на третий день Он воскреснет". Ученики Иисуса очень опечалились.

The Temple Tax

And when they came to Capernaum, those who received the didrachmas came to Peter and said, Does your teacher not pay the didrachmas?

Когда Иисус и Его ученики пришли в Капернаум, к Петру подошли сборщики храмового налога и спросили: "Твой учитель платит двухдрахмовый налог на храм?"

25

He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What dost thou think, Simon? the kings of the earth, from whom do they receive custom or tribute? from their own sons or from strangers?

Петр ответил: "Платит!" и вошёл в дом. Прежде чем Петр успел что-либо сказать, Иисус спросил его: "Как ты думаешь, Симон, с кого владыки мира сего берут пошлины и налоги? Со своих детей или с других людей?"

Peter says to him, From strangers. Jesus said to him, Then are the sons free.

Петр ответил: "С других людей". Иисус сказал: "Значит, их дети свободны от налога.

27

But that we may not be an offence to them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up, and when thou hast opened its mouth thou wilt find a stater; take that and give it to them for me and thee.

27

Но чтобы не раздражать власти, пойди к озеру, забрось уду и у первой рыбы, которую поймаешь, открой рот. Найдёшь там четырёх — драхмовую монету, возьми её и отдай им за себя и за Меня".
